Gifting the game

I want to buy the expansions for my wife as a gift, and I cannot figure out how to do it.

 

If i log into the website and buy the game, will it automatically apply the expansion upgrade to my account, or will it email me a key which I can then provide to my wife?

 

For full clarity, can someone confirm that purchasing the expansion from the website WHILE logged into MY Guild Wars account, will not automatically apply to my guild wars account.

As long as you do not purchase an expansion in-game, you can gift the Serial Key to anyone. The Serial Key will be sent to you. The giftee will, then, activate the Serial Key on their own account through the 'My Account' page.

 

If you prefer, you can purchase the game without logging into any account, as well. (New players don't have accounts to log into when they purchase the game. ;) )

I bought mine through the little link that's advertised in the load window before you press play after login in.

Yes you are given a code to use that you can give to yer wife. ^^
