Mirage Hybrid GS Axe/X?

Hi,

has anyone a fun hybrid build in mind with gs ans axe?

 

Im currently playing grieving in pvp and wvw with axe/torch axe/sword. Its very funny and i like this build but i realy miss my gs :(.

I already tried some builds but none of them felt right.

Is there anyone whoa playing gs axe/x and could link me the build (maybe with a little explaination^^)

You could probably do a X/dueling/mirage phantasm build where the x is either Dom or illusion and you take the respective clone damage modifier traits in the line

So illusion would be compounding, haste, the top gm which I can't recall the name of and the offhand weep can be pistol where basically your clones will proc bleed from the relavent traits.

 

For obvious reasons it won't be top tier dps, but it for the most part optimizes the build you're putting together

Axe/sword - GS hybrid Mirage

 

Cele Trinkets + bodypiece of armor. Weapons + rest of armor = grieving.

 

Traveler runes , 2* energy sigil, bloodlust on sword, force on GS.

 

Full condi Infusions.

 

Endurance food + Condi buff

 

Illu : top , bottom, mid

Duel : top , bottom, top

Mirage : X, bottom , mid

 

Renewing, illusionary, blink, X ( using cleanse mantra), Jaunt

 

 

Can one shot squishies, condis kill low lifes, good sustain through block on sword. Pretty stable in my opinion.

I’ll plot this in the editor and tinker with it. Been aching to try a hybrid for a long time.

 

I do want to ask tho, why sword over torch?

The extra escape mechanic and the only source of burn dmg other than staff are hard to ignore.

 

Edit: Also what would be a sweet spot for power in a build like that?

Good question.

So the situation is following ; torch or sword off hand.

Torch brings Stealth + burn, which is the strongest damaging Condi. Power coefficient however is pretty low on both skills. Biggest Issue ; High cooldowns with 24 and 18 seconds.

 

Sword gives you an one attack Block + meele phant. NOTICE ; sword 4 deals damage when blocking, and it's good damage!

Sword is the ONLY mes weapon which has 2 illusion skills on top of the mainhand skill.

 

Basically it's preferring sword block over the Prestige. Sword has way lessn CD and can actually Save u in Situations in which the Prestige won't do anything. You have enough condition damage with traited shatters and axe.

Sword helps much more in longer duels. It's more reliant due the Shorter cooldown.

 

Beautiful vs things like staff daredevil.

 

DD uses Staff 5,which is an evade. You block it with sword 4 and DD gets arround 4-5k damage.

You spam a clone for Instant meele F1 Finisher.

 

Seriously its such a great feeling, if you KILL someone with the block.

 

It's THE punisher Build; unload confusion with axe and jaunt.

Ur enemy attacks - > confu ticks. U Block - > block damage ticks.

 

Could go on for ages about how much i love sword 4. It saved my ass in sooo many fights.
