Ithilwen.1529
Background: I just returned from vanquishing the Sacnoth Valley. I used a Mo/Rt build that is functionally similar to a Phantasm build Mesmer, but significantly better. A "modern" Mesmer closely resembles some combination of Mesmer and Ritualist from the first generation game. I think it would be smart to revive part of the old Ritualist build. Specifically, [ Armor of Unfeeling ] https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Armor_of_Unfeeling and [ Painful Bond ]. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Painful_Bond The Kurzick skill; [summon Spirits] https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Summon_Spirits would also be a boon to Mesmer. The first two buff the spirits/phantasms of the caster. The third moves spirits/phantasms to the caster's location and heals them. Here's why I propose this ; Such a buff would make Phantasm builds usable, expanding the scope of Mesmer. This would be balanced because the buffs are **slot skills** not traits. You'd need to commit at least 2 utility slots to this build. *It could be comparable to the power levels of other builds without being an AOE "carpet bomb" situation.* **As things stand, Phantasms are essentially costly clones. With the three skills I mentioned, they could become a potent force in there own right, without being overpowered.**
