Shadow assault?

I have no clue about anything mesmer and was wondering what this shadow assault it that was criting me for 8k today while roaming wvw. This had me shook man

I don't know for sure, but I think it might be the downed state phantasm?

Was there a downed mesmer around? Pretty sure that could be the Rogue (Downed 3) can deal insane damage. Deals 25% more damage if it lands from behind as well as reducing the cool down by 25%

Yes, Shadow Assault is the Phantasmal Rogue's attack. It's extremely powerful and fast.

There was times we were both downed so maybe thats it but i mean this mesmer took me down super quick so i assumed this attack was the reason but if its the downed attack then i guess this wasnt it

Not sure if they have anything else that would be called that, i would lean towards him/her being a Power shatter. can do a lot of damage VERY fast.
