I had a leak in my warm water pipe in the kitchen, repairmen gave me a date in mid-october. So I plan my vacation, and despite I enjoy it, I wish(ed) to finally make my first step towards deadeye - I waited for it since weeks after beta testing.

But reading the game causes hiccups to certain people, I think I can wait until my vacation's over...

I hope it's fine soon though and envy all the players that can dive into PoF content!

Excelsior.

This issue isn't limited to just MMOs, anything new will always need updates/improvements. So don't seem so shocked or upset. No one can forsee every little bug or problem upon release. No one who works for Anet has precognition otherwise every update release would be near flawless, don't you think?

Some people saying they had no problems...right. Most likely trolls.

I asked in map chat after 5-6 disconnects and re-rolls if everyone else is having frequent disconnects.

Two players said they had no problems what so ever. One of the two players was standing right beside me and, as he was saying that, he just vanished. He came back again after ~ 30 seconds and admitted he also had problems but "its not that bad"

So people like that come to forums and explain how they were problem free at launch.

Either they did not buy PoF, were not in a PoF map or were playing from Anet's HQ.

It was just there to build up hype to milk money out of more people. If they did any internal testing half of these game breaking bugs would have been detected.

Haven't got anywhere in the story, because I can't zone into the casino instance. It always just keeps loading endlessly. Have also heard multiple players say that they got disconnected when killing the legendary wyrm. Same happened to me twice, so there is (was?) definitely something wrong with that bounty.

Not a mention that pve is bit of a mess too. Most events seem to keep failing, despite the high number of players. That's definitely not a good sign.

For instance, just got the giant pinata event. Horde of players, and we only got it down to 46% before the event failed.

Pfft. I've participated in about 40 launches, and most of them went smoothly. Whereas this is nearly as bad as Vanguard was. (Nowhere near the level of Seed and other completely failed launches, though).

Just because someone stated they had no issues doesn't mean that they were a troll. Just because you (or anyone else) had issues doesn't mean everyone did.

I played all day (when real life didn't intervene) and the only issue I had was slow loading times. I can't call that a real "issue", however, because I have had that problem for months when I want to go to LA. I did not dc even once, and I did not come across a glitchy story instance.

I take that back... I did have one issue.

I was trying for a mastery point and I was standing on the spot where the icon was on the map, but the mastery said it was still 12K away... straight up.... with nothing but open sky above me. But that wasn't a performance issue, it was something else, I believe.

You most likely did not play as soon as it went live.

> The only thing I saw someone complain about while I was in-game was they couldn't get to their home instance right now. Regardless, with the launch of any game or expansion, there are almost always some kinks that need to be worked out. I have been around for many game and expansion launches. What I just experienced was very smooth. As I always tell my son, patience is a virtue

Played many an MMO expacs over the years, including GW2 HoT.. which was painful enough, but I gotta be honest these aren't mere kinks this time with the expansion more like complete failure of the chain.. story progression to get to the PoF should not be so broken and actually getting into PoF with the prologue lottery should of been a priority QA otherwise the expansion is kinda moot until it gets fixed...

I'm A fairly patient person but something about the depth of issues this time round doesn't sit well with me.. I think I will stick to my guns next time and not pre-order :(

What the kitten?

Do you even WATCH streams/vids or do the beta weekends? These crashes to character select combined with a rollback were happening all the time to almost everyone. Sure, some people have computers at the minimum specs, however others have computers that will run circles around whatever you have.

Exactly, some minor bugs are expected. When I can not sit and sort inventory without 2 disconnects in a row (both times rolling back all the opening/salvaging/sorting I just did) it is not a 'minor bug'. Especially when you hear similar stories all over.

One time the crash/rollbag took an exotic drop I just got w a new skin. Still want to call it a 'minor bug'?

I'm not surprised that gung-ho GW2 supporters would downplay their issues (whether on purpose or because they have rose-colored glasses on). People need to keep in mind that experience is subjective and reports are not analytic data but tinged with the player's emotions about the situation also. For both sides.

That said, after playing MMOs since Ultima Online I try to never play new content on release day. I'm going to try it tonight but expect there will still be problems. If I was going to take time off work or plan an event I would wait at least a few days.
