The one to Rule.2593
Shades feel a little too good though. Unlikable and last for 20 sec, and pulse conditions, remove boons and buff you and allies. This class finally feels like the master of debuffing like Necro was supposed to be. I'll miss shroud, but the trade off for losing it is amazing.

Drarnor Kunoram.5180
They can also be easily stepped out of, so the counterplay is definitely there.
The one to Rule.2593
That's true but it's hard with a pvp mode where you have to be on point most of the time and all I have to do is drop em on a point

Ah yes, the classic abandon the point counterplay. Jolly good! In all seriousness, the area of denial and the length of time Scourge can sustain it does feel too strong. If we had deathmatch it wouldn't be nearly as bad, but because we're contesting and defending small circles, it's a bit ridiculous.

IDK why that's censored I think "sh@des" is a slang term for the police or something. Anyway, yeah, great in PvP. Just wish they'd give us some PvE only buffs, like revenant. Either in damage, or maybe change might for a boon that is not provided by way too many classes way faster and not compromising their dps. Or, yknow, give us the old sh@de values back for PvE only like it should'Ve been from the start.
Crinn.7864
I'm sure scourge will be very good when paired with a tempest. I wouldn't solo queue with a scourge in ranked though.
The one to Rule.2593
Yeah I do agree it doesn't fare as well solo q, but it still does good on its own when traited right.
Amityel.5324
scourge is good but i think for solo q you have to run blood magic for sustain and not curses for boon hate otherwise feels like good debuffer and trading shroud for more dmg seems nice to me i just hope it will stay viable since its easy to bring down
Savvy.3258
I noticed they do quite poorly vs warriors and deadeyes, other than that they can pretty much trash anything. This is looking more and more like a condi meta. I'm judging based on the insane amount of matches I've already played since yesterday and during the demo weekend, and how difficult if not impossible it is to go up against a team with two or more people on condi builds. There just isn't enough cleanse to handle it and that damage is very high, but perhaps it'll normalize as people come to understand the new specs and learn what to avoid? I doubt it. Vitali.5039
I've tried condi scourge and curses work better than blood magic, survivability is given by lf on corrupt, punishment cd reduction e boon gain on corrupt. But support and power works better with big sh4des. 3 minor sh4des gives better field control imho.

Cosbuster.4379
It's great in large group fights, I feel like it gives my team a huge advantage. Unfortunately, in 1v1 I feel like a piece of paper.
Liberis.9573
Scourge is solid, but Ele glass staff wrecks Scourge atm. Just give people time to learn all the PoF specialization counters. Atm it's very fun to play against Scourge as staff Ele hahaha. Easy rating farm :)

If we had deathmatch it wouldn't be nearly as bad, but because we're contesting and defending small circles, it's a bit ridiculous. This is exactly right. 1 circle covers all points except the middle one in Foefire and a little bit of the Archway in Capricorn. Even then it really doesn't give much room to do anything. Since everyone just facechecks points and fights in all the circles they drop, they are stupidly strong. Even in Plat they don't know the easiest way to beat Scourge is by attacking range...you just get blocked and reported for mentioning it then just watch your team die over and over to it. Plus, you'll be slowly chipping away at Scourge 1v1 range but by the time it's over, they'd likely got 100 points from you and are already back by the time you capture the point back...Cycle continues as they'll just take the point back by dropping even more circles to keep you off. Reaper Alim.4176
The problem is it's a pulsing AoE, that covers the whole point. Point denial mechanics like this, in a point capture based game mode is dumb and highly unbalanced from any standpoint.
HeadCrowned.6834
The amount of condi's flying around now is just ridiculous. And I mained necro for years.
BadMed.3846
I might start playing this till anet fixes other classes. I guess Spellbreaker is great for 1v1s and Scourge for group fights.
