Aktium.9506
That would only work if they disallowed switching classes before the match starts.

Shirlias.8104
I support all of this. Queue will be longer for some players because the class they play? I don't care.
thesilverdragoon.3078
If the queue is longer for popular classes and shorter for the other side of the spectrum, wouldn't that encourage people to play less of the popular classes and more of the unpopular? Sounds healthy for more than just one reason.
Exedore.6320
Or... you could fix the actual problem and nerf the specs which are too strong. Profession stacking is only ever a problem when one profession is significantly stronger than another at a given skill level.

Profession stacking is only ever a problem when one profession is significantly stronger than another at a given skill level. It's impossible. We have to face reality and accept the fact that in order to provvide balance we have to play in a specific way. 1x class won't solve the balance problems, but ineed will bring more balance. Same goes for soloq from wood league to wintrader league.
Wolfric.9380
no duo q (or adapt system to be 4:4 not 5:5 ) , no class swap and class leaderboards .... MM already avoides class stacking but well ... if there are much more people on mesmers than annything else and people swap after map roll it´s kitten ... MarshallLaw.9260
The main issue is that even if the system prevents class stacking during matchmaking, players will still have the ability to change within the 60 seconds of pre-match time. Last season, there was 1 occasion where I had the same player in my team for 3 consecutive matches. He would port in as revenant and immediately switch to nerco. ANet asked the community if they wanted to "lock" characters preventing switching this way and the community said they want the ability to change. It's unlikely we will get another referendum on this, and if we do, many will vote to keep the current system.
Odik.4587
Look at AT ,you can run there 5 same classes without restriction ;)
Azure The Heartless.3261
Queue times would increase exponentially. on the bright side, we can blame the Mesmers. But yeah not right now. Queue times need to be short. more focus needs to be given to adjusting the game and the classes themselves so you dont get an auto gg if two people want to run potato, etc.
Shirlias.8104
Like now, 3 scourges 1 mesmer. Stompfeast with aoe barrier + condition, without any kind of skill.
michelada.2947
omg we need this, not only for mesmers, at the moment a class rise as broken, it will not dominate the meta as hard if we have a single class matchs

It's unlikely we will get another referendum on this, and if we do, many will vote to keep the current system. as long as there is no build template in the game .... locking classing will be a pain for everyone that can exploit the different aspect of a unique class. A lot of players has 3 times the same class as characters and just change the character to play another build that has been pre-made before Qing. Example: One thief P/P then another character thief with S/D build or D/P build That's what I do with my eles.

thatdarnkatz.7168
That kinda doesn't really work. Class no longer determines your role. 2 rangers could have one bunker druid and one DPS soulbeast, or core guardian and firebrand. Using class as your base is too short sighted. Role != class. Nappa.1904
Pls limit all classes to 1 class per match, except mesmers. pls
Wolfric.9380
or just match only same classes. Matches with 10 mesmers, 10 thiefs, 10 druids, ... ^^.

Vaga.5174
Class stacking is fine up to 2 for the initial game. Im against removing changing class before a game, it adds an additional level of understanding and skill to change your class based on what your team and/or the opposition is running. Do not change this game mechanic based on class balance. If a class is unbalanced, that is what needs to be addressed.
Xillllix.3485
Removing class stacking and enabling build swapping after a death would certainly bring some life back to this game.
