"Image is corrupt: Unknown image file format." could mean that your gw2.dat file is corrupt.

 

try starting the gw2.exe (or Gw2-64.exe) with a " -repair" afterwards, so it will check the gw2.dat and all files inside.

Thank you for the response, I've tried the repair and the repair crashes at about 75% through as well. Does this mean I need to do a full reinstall?

Does repair crash, or just seem to hang? If it hangs, you just have to wait for some period of time for it to finish.
