If you ask anet ... i think it's elementalist . Just how bad it's designed and balanced patch after patch (it takes you back where it started to the old D/D cele days)

This guy is right. Historically, it's been thief most of the time. I rarely see hate arising from having two of a class on my own team except when it's thief.

 

Mesmer has only been really hated in recent memory. Also, many players love having a decent mesmer on their team who knows how to do portal plays.

We are kind of like junglers in LoL. We have a lot of things we can do. We can +1, we can go and decap, secure map objectives. It just so happens we need to somehow be magically doing all of these at once.
