Error 42 when trying to login - Australians impacted??

So I'm a consistent GW2 player, but started experiencing Error 42 issues a few days ago after returning from a trip (laptop was switched off at home while I went overseas).

 

Checking the Support pages, it sounds like this has been a hot topic for Russian players due to AWS, but I'm assuming this shouldn't apply to me since I live in Australia. Hoping there's someone out there who can help troubleshoot/resolve as I've tried a number of workarounds/fixes.

 

A couple of things to note about me (plus things I've tried so far):

 

- Again, I live in Australia

- Home ISP is Telstra (but also tried tethering to my mobile phone which is on Optus with the same results)

- On a laptop, using Windows 10

- Have tried updating the IPv4 & 6 properties to use Google's (plus some random others) DNS servers

- Forwarded the specified GW2 ports on my router

- Added command lines to the GW2 executable to use specific AuthSrv IP's (tried a variety of them)

- Flushed my DNS

 

Any suggestions and or success stories from others would be welcome - very much suffering from withdrawal at this point :anguished:
