Buff food weak in last 5 minutes!? W.T.F

While running around the new maps and in WvW I noticed that my buff food gets a 'weakened' state in its last 5 minutes. So if I have buff food that lasts 30 mins, it's actually nerfed to 25min. What's this for heavens sake???

It's a 5 minute reminder which starts AFTER the 30 min to remind you that your food ran out and is actually really helpful. How do people not check things at least once before coming to the forums and complain about stuff...

But the tooltip says "weakened", not something like a reminder. That's at least more than confusing!

To be fair, it's called Malnourished, says "Consume a food item to regain nourishment." and it has a purple debuff icon. So it's understandable to think it may be weakening you. I had to wait for it to end to confirm that it didn't deduct any stats (at least, from the character screen) and when I asked, I was told it was just a reminder. I definitely notice it now and find it helpful, just a bit confusing at first.

It's been a very helpful reminder for me, lost as I've been in looking at other stuff and generally having fun. Initially I was put out until I realised it wasn't trying to poke holes in me. :) It also goes away after a while, even if you don't consume another food stuff.
