Bladeworks.9135 Posted October 8, 2017 Share Posted October 8, 2017 I have been having non-stop crashes after certain period of playing. The crashes happen whenever I try to type something in chat. :( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not sure if you're asking me, but even so, no, I'm not using any shader addons. In fact I'm not using any addons at all. The crashes seem more frequent when I'm doing group activities with my guild when we're all in a giant group in the same map, a la guild missions. And it's not that I'm in just any old big group that causes it, either. Just the other day I was in the HoT maps doing a hero point train with 50 people and not a single crash during that two hours of play. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nokomis.5076 Posted October 10, 2017 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Just a shot in the dark. Maybe we get some more information with the log file you can enable with instructions written here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments#-log Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Okamikazi.8652 Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Im having same crashing issues too but nothing is being logged into the file. Its last recorded crash was from September I have no crash logs for October which my computer has crashed many times. Do I need to delete everything in that file because its full? Nephalem.1458 Posted October 16, 2017 Share Posted October 16, 2017 I haven't been crashing as frequently, but it's still happening and only roughly 50% of the time does it write to the log since the "GuildWars2 Has Stopped Responding..." crashes don't write to the log. The rest are the "Memory at address 00000000`f190e410 could not be read" type messages. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nephalem.1458 Posted October 18, 2017 Share Posted October 18, 2017 @Jon Olson.8439 - With the Halloween patch, I'm now crashing repeatedly in and around any medium-large number of people in the MK's Labyrinth, Lion's arch, etc. Forget doing the doors or the champs/bosses. So I thought it was a group thing, but then I was off by myself in a mostly empty MKL to carve pumpkins and just pressing 'F' to interact with the pumpkin resulted in crashes...like F became the crash key. It's not 100% of the time, mind you, but it's frequent enough. I must have gotten lucky and actually completed the mount race in the MKL with a decent number of people running with me, but as soon as I went to carve a pumpkin at the finish line, I crashed. Side note -- I didn't have any problems doing the clock tower JP, though, so maybe it has something to do with the size of the zone? Anyway, I left the MKL, frustrated, and went to Elon Riverlands to do the mount race and crashed on the home stretch just before the finish line right when one of the banners was switching from green to red--that exact moment it switched colors. The root of the issue seems to be centered around the game calling for these textures and being unable to find them. The error log is similar to the ones I posted above where, if you dig into the details, it's complaining about "texture missing mip chain (and then some hex), not being unable to find permutations (e.g. w, sword, default, etc.) and a bunch of "Failed to resolve AimIK bone indices." Instead of crashing/giving up, could it not try to load the item again (or a 10th time if it tries a few times already)? I'd much rather have a large stutter than crash since it kicks me out of instances and I end up losing progress on whatever I'm doing. I don't know much about software development, but with some sort of error correction **extension ** here, you likely wouldn't affect the general population that isn't bothered by this issue, but for those of us that keep having this problem, it would go down this road and keep us alive. If this is all handled by DirectX and/or the graphics drivers and is out of AN's hands, let me know so I can at least put that thought to rest. (For those of you who haven't read the whole thread, I've tried all manner of troubleshooting; system stress-tests, drivers, game repairs, OS reinstall, etc.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kikinvago.7064 Posted November 22, 2017 Share Posted November 22, 2017 I'm just going to uninstall. I tried everything from repairing to reinstalling etc. I bought the expansion and had to ask for a refund because I couldn't do any missions or play for more than a couple of minutes without crashing. Right now I couldn't even get to the part where you choose a character to play with because it would crash. So disappointed but nothing to do I guess. *--> Crash <--* Assertion: fileId != FILE_ID_UNUSED File: ..\..\..\Services\Archive3\Archive.cpp(1415) App: Gw2-64.exe Pid: 5972 Cmdline: BaseAddr: 00007FF73E330000 ProgramId: 101 Build: 84172 When: 2017-11-22T03:53:09Z 2017-11-21T22:53:09-05:00 Uptime: 0 days 0:00:02 Flags: 0 *--> System <--* Name: ENRIQUEVARGAS IpAddr: 192.168.1.4 Processors: 8 [GenuineIntel:6:14:3] OSVersion: Windows 6.2 (64 bit) *--> System Memory <--* Physical: 10558MB/16337MB 64% Paged: 56424MB/65489MB 86% Virtual: 134217231MB/134217727MB 3% Load: 35% CommitTotal: 9064MB CommitLimit: 65489MB CommitPeak: 17425MB SystemCache: 7042MB HandleCount: 69893 ProcessCount: 404 ThreadCount: 2341 *--> Process Memory <--* Private: 156MB WorkingSet: 162MB PeakWorkingSet: 183MB PageFaults: 247997 *--> Memory Category Usage (Inclusive) <--* [Category] [size(MB)] [Count] Root 108.34 7516 Programmer Data 56.80 1662 Uncategorized 45.10 5099 I/O 30.09 728 Collections 26.39 744 Dictionary 26.08 41 Archive 22.77 152 Collide Havok 6.45 755 Collide 6.45 755 Asset Service 6.08 559 File Service 1.24 12 BTree 0.13 22 Networking 0.11 14 Event 0.07 3 UI 0.06 65 Web Browser 0.06 51 Game 0.04 55 Engine 0.02 12 Content 0.02 1 Threading 0.01 15 Model-Programmer 0.01 1 CharClient 0.00 5 Services 0.00 8 File Core 0.00 2 *--> Memory Category Usage (Exclusive) <--* [Category] [size(MB)] [Count] Uncategorized 45.10 5099 Dictionary 26.08 41 Archive 22.77 152 Collide Havok 6.45 755 Asset Service 6.08 559 File Service 1.24 12 Collections 0.18 678 BTree 0.13 22 Networking 0.11 9 Event 0.07 3 Web Browser 0.06 51 Game 0.02 45 Content 0.02 1 Threading 0.01 15 Model-Programmer 0.01 1 Engine 0.01 6 CharClient 0.00 5 Services 0.00 8 File Core 0.00 2 Text 0.00 1 Download 0.00 3 String 0.00 10 UI 0.00 14 Programmer Data 0.00 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MrWubzy.3587 Posted November 24, 2017 Author Share Posted November 24, 2017 @"Nokomis.5076" Do you think my RAM could be the issue? Path of Fire requires 4G of RAM and I have just that, 4G. Could that cause the crashes, even if I crash when I'm playing in core Tyria or HoT maps? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nokomis.5076 Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 Doesn't Windows 10 have a memory test build inside? I think it will restart the computer and test all of the computers RAM Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Aaralyna.3104 Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 @MrWubzy.3587 I am no pc expert at all but I think having a max of 4G RAM max on your pc is not enough when the game requires 4G RAM. RAM is a working memory and is used for all processes and data saving on your pc which means that processes outside the game also require this memory. I don't think the game makes exceptions regardless which zone you want to enter upon what will be needed memory wise. Given the fact I didn't need any upgrade download when i got Pof means that its already in the base game but simply just disabled if you didn't buy the expansion. I don't know if a pc will just shut off with lack of RAM or like Nokomis mentions goes into check mode but I have a feeling you may want to upgrade the amount of RAM you have if you want to continue play the game (or any other future games).
