Am i to assume the changes to this skill will be something like this? If an engi already has 10% damage reduction from some where else, then pops this skill they will have 500% damage reduction? I mean its new description says multiplyied with other reduction affects....so am i understanding it wrongly?

No, additively:

 

Taking 1000 damage with Spectrum shield + Protection additively =

 

- 1000 x (1-.83) [spectrum shield + prot]= **170** damage taken

 

Multiplicatively,

 

- 1000 x (1-.5) [spectrum shield] x (1-.33) [Prot]= **330** damage taken.

 

 

Multiplicatively, it works so that while it's still all stacking, Spectrum shield and prot won't be an insane 83% damage reduction, rather just a 50% reduction and a 33% reduction after that.
