Sunspawn.7814
It's updated enough that the Play button lights up, I logged in, but whether I use Auto-Play or manually click Play, nothing happens. Game just won't start. What gives?
jumperpro.2815
Never had such a problem, but sometimes a simple PC's restart or a client-repair could be enough Here are the repair instructions for windows : https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/201863008-Repairing-the-Game-Client Probably a bit annoying, but you can also try to completely uninstall the game and re-install it :s If nothing works, you may wanna send a ticket to the support

Aaralyna.3104
Haven't seen this myself with GW but have had it with other games. Check your antivirus/security software. Make sure Guild Wars 2 and all connected gets permitted and not blocked. This could stop clients from actually working to connect. This may be an option. I would still advise to go through the full download as well.
Sunspawn.7814
Okay, turns out there WERE 3 files that the launcher simply refuses to download, dropping to 0 speed as soon as it starts. What the fuck? This is how it looks like: https://i.imgur.com/cqPXJ9t.png
altermaven.7385
You may want to add the Guild Wars 2 folder to the whitelist of your antivirus/antimalware (by setting them as exclusions). Also, for best results, make sure you are not installing/running Guild Wars 2 in the Program Files directory -- Windows has the rather aggrivating property of being overly possessive of what can be written to that directory and it'll be all-out frowns in general. Once you have Guild Wars 2 in, all you really need to do is copy/paste the folder to the main drive's base directory (usually "C:", so it would look like "C:\Guild Wars 2\"). Update your shortcuts to reflect this change, or make new ones.
Sunspawn.7814
I already added it to exceptions in Windows Defender and it's not even on the same physical drive as windows.
