NoNameNoob.9758
Hey Guys, is saw a lot of comments that GW 2 would run way better on BootCamp with Windows. I installed everything and started GW 2 on Windows BootCamp and it is amazing. Way smoother and way more FPS buuuut it only last 10-15 mins then the Game is lagging extrem. I have an extra cooler for my Mac, so it can't be a heat problem... Does someone know why this happens?
Kiza.5630
Since this is just an ordinary Windows installation it's probably not specific to Macs. Is this a laptop? Are you sure it's not CPU throttling because of heat? Have you checked the temps while running or the event viewer for temperature threshold entries? Kiza.5630
Laptop (non-gaming) cooling systems are often inadequate for prolonged usage at full load. It might be the issue. Might. External cooler can only do so much if the heat transfer is not good enough, especially in summer. I have no Macbook to test but this might work: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html Can directly download the ZIP https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.35.zip and run the single application from there. I hope it works on a Mac though. What model is it btw? The program has 3 columns. Current (left column), min, max. Let it run in the background and play. Signs of the CPU throttling are: max value reading >90° celsius (or >200 fahrenheit) but the current value when you switch back from gw2 stays at around 80 celsius (<175 F). Also current clock speed is much lower than the advertised CPU speed.
