Game crashes and need a hard reset

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am hoping for some help with this as i've had this error for a long long time now.

My game crashes at random points while playing. Sometimes within a few minutes and sometimes after a couple hours. I can't seem to reproduce or see anything that causes it.

It will freeze, black screen and lock me up until i have to hard reset the pc.

Sometimes it will black screen and recover (this has only happened like 2 times out of many many times)

Sometimes it will black screen and the game will crash and ill be back on desktop but not locked up (also very rare)

This only happens with gw2. I play many other games and have never crashed in them at all.

I checked event viewer after the crash and it always comes up with this:

Faulting application name: Gw2-64.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5b359ca5

Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.17134.137, time stamp: 0xf4df6dc2

Exception code: 0xc0000374

Fault offset: 0x00000000000f4d1b

Faulting process id: 0xcc8

Faulting application start time: 0x01d4175865aee648

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe

Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll

Report Id: d9f4b5e0-7a9a-4250-8506-1268ee87c897

Faulting package full name:

Faulting package-relative application ID:

i've googled "Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll" and have looked for answers with that but no suggestions seem to be helping me.

System specs:

OS: Windows 10 pro

Motherboard: ASUS z370-e

PSU: Rosewill 750W

CPU: Intel core i5 8600k

Memory: 8gb ddr4 2666mhz

Hard Drive: 500gb ssd

Video Card: EVGA GTX 980 TI

Sound Card: Sound Blaster Z

I've also had this same problem on my previous pc across 2 other GPU's and 1 other CPU and another Motherboard and SSD.

I really don't know what to do, this crash makes me quit the game from time to time and I always come back to it and remember that i crash from it.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank You!
