How to install a 2nd copy of GW2?

Many apologies if this has been asked, but I couldn't find it in the forums.

I bought an extra copy of the game, so I have a serial code in my mail, but I don't know how to install this. I know you can add codes in your account page but I thought that was just for adding expansions to the game you already own.

I've seen posts saying you must use a different email address, but the mail I received with the code in says I have to install it on an account which already has access - so I'm a bit confused! If I had bought this for someone else who does not yet play GW2 then they wouldn't have any access yet .....

 

Could anyone give me idiot-prrof step by step instructions on what to do, please?

You have to register the second code as a new account using a different email address and password than your other account. https://account.arena.net/register

 

There is nothing else to install as you already have the game client. When you want to use your second account you just use the login info you used for that account.
