Bella Kim.4061
If you have 5 stacks of Stability , you can remove 5 incoming stuns after removing 5 stuns , 5 stacks of Stability is gone. Let's apply this mechanic to Resistance If you have 5 stacks of Resistance , you can remove 5 incoming conditions after removing 5 conditions , 5 stacks of Resistance is gone. Resistance cannot stack duration Currently , all condi-builds are useless against Spellbreakers except boon strip condi-builds Reduce the amount of Resistance that Spellbreakers have access to
Havok.6073
Yes, let's do that and keep this shit condi meta going for as long as possible. You want to kill Spellbreakers? Change your build. You want to kill everything else? Keep it as it is.
Ario.8964
I mean if you do that then you have to bring the world's biggest nerf to conditions which I'm not sure you'll be happy with. Nerfing resistance to that extent will render warrior near useless against anything that has condi because they just drop a few chills and cripples or perhaps some vuln and you're screwed because now you have no way to last against the massive damage bomb about to hit you. Both Condition Spam and Resistance spam is an issue right now...... both needs a nerf.....

They would function almost the same as resistance. Not to mention it would be way too easy to remove those 5 stacks since conditions, unlike hard CCs, are incredibly common and a lot of skills apply multiple at once. Also it would make power even more obsolete, since conditions would then lack an invulnerability defense like it exists for power damage. To be honest I don't see why condi builds shouldn't have a counter. They've been way too effective against most builds for quite a while, having a counter in the meta would finally make them a bit less safe to run. It would be even worse since condi cleanses remove all stacks, however if you had 3 stacks of resistance, a skill that applied 3 condis would delete those stacks and would let you be exposed to rest of your opponent's burst skills. For example you get hit by a sand shade traited with sadistic searing, it would remove those three resistance stacks and any follow-up torment could easily be applied. So in total you avoided a single stack of torment with a laughable base duration of 2 seconds while the other gazillion stacks of torment could still wreck you while an actual cleanse could cleanse all torment stacks at once. They just need to significantly lower the duration of resistance spellbreakers have. They are way too durable not to be using a defensive amulet. Ziggityzog.7389
Mmmm spell breaker food. Gotta learn to now get hit with the counters and wait for openings. If your build is a single power or condi based, then these days it doesn't go very far. Hybrid seems to be the thing.
Allarius.5670
This is a really interesting idea. All sources of resistance would need to be adjusted to add multiple stacks baseline, with a likely starting point around 3 and going up based on specific balance needs (accessibility, cooldown, etc.). This has an interesting dynamic with counterplay as well. Corrupting resistance doesn't necessarily make you vulnerable to huge stacks of previously applied conditions because it theoretically prevented prior application to achieve those high stacks to begin with, especially if they worked the mechanic to corrupt only a single application of the boon and not the whole stack ... A kind of anti-corrupt. There was a reason Diamond Skin was changed a while back I suppose. Is having a few classes with boon strip/corrupts enough counter for professions with high resistance uptime/access? I don't know. Edit: There is always also the option of making it non-binary, applying damage reduction like Protection for power damage: immune to non-damaging condition effects, damage reduction for condition damage. There are many different ways the boon could be adjusted.
