I'm from SEA/OCX. You may have to run an elevated command prompt (i.e. run as administrator), use ipconfig /dnsflush, and then restart.

Thanks. Unfortunately, there's still no difference. If anything, I saw lower minimum ping numbers using google's dns servers but I doubt these are meaningful numbers. Probably just coincidence. The real problem I'm having right now is constant lag spikes. One moment it's at 230, next it's 1300, 500, 700, 3100, etc. It's extremely unstable. I also tried using my vpn service to connect to a server in nashville (the closest to anet's new servers that it has) but there's no discernible difference. Last night it was more stable but it was constantly in the 350+ range, more when there are many people nearby.

*EDIT:

The connection is actually relatively good and stable right now at around 220-250 ping with occassional spikes to 350 or so. Will monitor over the next few days.

New Zealander here on Sea of Sorrows. Ping has been horrendous of late in wvw and is especially so on servers 10.xx.xx.xx

Whatever you are doing Anet you are making things worse not better. It's getting to the point where I will not be able to play wvw NA timezone because of some internal kerfuffle in Anet servers.

That's good to hear. Hope this fix works for you, too.

Server: Riverside [EU]

I'm from Germany and I had a very bad experience the last weeks... if it's guild missions, fractals, pve,... my ping peaked most of the time above 200, sometimes even a couple thousands. So basically this game is unplayable right now for me, outside of gw2 my ping is relative normal with 40-60.

I used to have a ping of 40-70 until a few weeks ago (apparently until the migration to the new servers). Now I get ping spikes up to 3000ms and an average ping between 150 and 600ms depending on which map instance I connect to and which IP it is currently running on.

**EDIT:** By now I stumbled upon the following "bad" IPs: [10.83.74.142](https://i.imgur.com/aaPWUDQ.jpg "10.83.74.142"), [18.195.15.22](https://i.imgur.com/AWTTnPG.jpg "18.195.15.22") and [18.194.134.217](https://i.imgur.com/FfexcHo.jpg "18.194.134.217").

**Server:** Piken Square [EU]

**Connecting from:** Austria

Also, I noticed with the current LS that something is getting my FPS down from ~70-90 to ~20-30. Noticed that especially in the first LS instance during/starting with the boss fight (see also above link to screenshot for IP 18.194.134.217). Given there are similar frame drops occuring on the Vabbi map, I suspect it to have something to do with the branded effects. I also read that people have similar problems on the new map(s?) but didn't get that far with the story yet. I will check if that's the case for me as well once I'm home.

**GPU:** GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

**CPU:** Intel Core i7-6700K

**Memory:** 16GB DDR4

i also have very bad fps drops, it started on my old pc. i once got 7 fps and it was more then 5 minutes a shocking thing. no matter what i tried the fps didnt increase. i thought its the internet. alt tab and back to game didnt work. looking to the ground didnt increase in fps.

specs old pc gtx 1060 3gb, cpu amd fx8120. ram 16 gig 1600 mhz ddr3. windows 7 ultimate. 64 bit ofc

but now i also have it at better pc. very bad fps drops. i can normally play all maxed no problems. exept wvw then i get 22 fps in big zerg. other zones 80+ fps for sure.

specs gtx 780ti classified 3gb. i7 6700k. ram 16gb 2800 mhz ddr4. windows 10 pro 64 bit ofc. and internet is fiber glass 50/50.

its not my problem because before everything worked very well :)

I don't know if this has been recommended so far, or if anyone has tried but.... I was just having extreme FPS drops about every 10-15 minutes... the game was maxing out my memory and causing the entire computer to stutter and have issues until it resolved... usually around 30 seconds at a time... often even while sitting still in low pop areas. Of course the best way to trigger it was enter heavily "noisy" graphical areas (boss fights etc. with lots of spell effects). I've always had minor FPS drops in these situations but this has been an alarming increase since PoF launch.

I just deleted the local.dat file in the appdata folder, then re-tweaked my Graphics and Sound settings and have so far had much more stable performance.

Did this a short while ago, since it was recommended by someone (don't remember who or where) for the frame drops in Vabbi - didn't help at all for the seemingly branded effect caused frame drops. But I heard many reports that it helps if you have general FPS drops in other areas of the game (which was apparently introduced with one of the patches after PoF realease).

**Update regarding the high latency issues on the Amazon servers:** Setting the client port to something different (e.g. 443 [as recommended by DrStephenCW on reddit](

"as recommended by ANet DrStephenCW on reddit")) sadly does nothing for me. Still get the same issues. :(

EDIT: Thought I'd include the link since useful replies like that are always hidden away on reddit - maybe it helps some other players out there.

Strangely, I was struggling with the same problems and then they patched for new LS and it was fine until yesterday because again it started to crash on 10.x ip's

I think I got it. Because it stopped crashing right after:

First, i changed my default dns to googles. 8.8.8.8 [Google Public DNS](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/home/leaving?target=https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.google.com%2Fspeed%2Fpublic-dns%2Fdocs%2Fusing "Google Public DNS")

Secondly i tired -clientport 80 in the launcher.

This is working for me but also if anyone needs further:

My latency is almost always 30-40ms. Every online test comes back as roughly 40ms. Ever since the server change/wvw maintenance, I am averaging 75-104 ms in game. Regularly it spikes to 450ms. This isn't even during heavy zerg fighting in smc, this is off hours when there might be 30 people total on the map (and not fighting). Running latency tests while the game is showing 104ms, shows I'm at about 39ms. It is only in the game that I am lagging.

Guessing it has to do with the change to using Amazon servers (if that really is what happened).

Lots more ridiculous latency while outnumbered on empty maps fighting 1 npc. At midnight, MST, server disconnected and was unable to reach the login server to get back in for a few minutes. It's not my connection, cause I can instantly open a browser and get everything open except the GW2 forums and the game login server. Came back up a couple minutes later. The Amazon servers are crap, I hope you realize this before it really makes a dent in the playing population.

Exactly 30 minutes later, same disconnect. Now, I can get in to the forums, but using every amazon address and every one of your old addresses, I can 't get the game to find the login server. Fuck amazon. It's been 10 minutes that I can surf the entire web (including this site), but can not get the game to connect. None of the latency/disconnect issues existed before you switched servers.

Managed to make it in to Lions Arch. Seems like the only people affected are Comcast users, mostly west coast. AND, the only part of our internet that is having trouble is connecting to GW2. Can stream, email, can actually stream youtube and netflix on 2 browsers and no issue...just can't stay connected to GW2.

Really starting to seem like comcast is throttling access to just this game. So much for net neutrality.
