They make sense in WvW where it's big zerg verses zerg and there is huge damage, huge heals, and huge rezes going on between both sides and individual snap moment to moment gameplay is less important. But in SPvP stuff like Auto S, Auto Endure Pain, and Lightning Reflexes should never have been added.

Core guard has Sword's Symbol of Faith and Judges Intervention as it's only mobility skills. Both of these require an enemy target to use. If they're running Greatsword over Hammer they have Leap of Faith which is a 600 yard leap on a 12 second cooldown. To put this into perspective Hololeap is a 600 yard leap on a 2 second cooldown and grants swiftness. Other than that they're literally just running from place to place on foot the hard way. That's why the meta Core Guard build is seriously using 25% movement speed runes in 2018.

Firebrand+Scourge as a team fight combo is notoriously slow, which is it's single biggest weakness. Yeah the Firebrand might have sprint, but the only mobility they can maybe even afford to run is Merciful Intervention which can only be done to an allied player. They're still hoofing it to nodes and if shit goes sideways they can't easily disengage.

Guardian has the worst out of combat mobility and disengage potential in the game. Holosmiths alone are leaving them in the dust just with Holo Leap on a 2 second cooldown. The idea that Holo mobility is laughable. Yeah they're no Sword+Greatsword+Bulls Rush Warriors, or Mirage Thrust+Blink+Jaunt+Portal Mesmers, or Thieves but they're more mobile than basically everything else and have all the mobility and disengage potential they need.

Oh for the love of...

Play a holosmith and tell me how good your disengage is without stealth. The only enemies that might have trouble keeping up with you are scourges or reapers. Every other class can keep up with you, unless they've burned all their cooldowns. The only decent way to disengage as a holo is stealth or burning rifle 5 (and even that requires some luck). For any engineer that doesn't run rifle, the only decent disengage is stealth.

Balance Patch 11 december 2018

>Self-Regulating Defenses: This trait has been renamed Emergency Elixir. Rather than using Elixir S, it now uses a new skill called Elixir E that grants barrier (3,000 at level 80) >and protection for 3 seconds. The threshold that triggers this trait is now 33% health instead of 25% health. Elixir E's cooldown is 40 seconds.

Thanks alot PVP crybabies.

Instead of being disabled for 3-4 seconds you now get the benefit similar of a heal skill (3k barrier + protection reducing the damage on your remaining health + barrier) instantly. Much better for staying in a fight and counter attacking now, but less stalling potential. Makes engi more prone to focus but even more potent in drawn out battles imo.
