WvW Small Scale - Sustain Debuffer Build

Ever since fighting BG server again I've encountered more and more 'Focus the necro first' treatment from opposing groups of roamers and to that end I want to share a build that has enjoyed a relative amount of success in small scale fights of around 2-5 pug roamers on each side.

 

I managed to fight some of the best roamers still active and unfortunately...I must say that the build is not good enough when hard focused...hence we must become a cockroach to survive small scale fights!

The purpose of the build is:

 

1. Ensure survival long enough when focused (so that the first to get downed is the enemy)

2. Actively work as the debuff anti-boons bot in the group (starve the focused enemy of his boons)

 

**Survival depends on:**

 

1. Protection. The new trait Dark Defiance in Death Magic - Protection gives 33% power dmg reduction and 20% condi dmg reduction.

* Dark Defiance: 4.5 secs when CCed (20 secs CD)

* Spectral Armor: 12 secs (40 secs CD)

* Beyond the veil: 4.5 secs (when leaving shroud)

* Rune of the Grove: 3-15 secs (AOE protection pulsing field when struck)

* Spectral Ring: 7.5 secs (40 secs CD)

 

2. Condi removal:

* Unholy Matyr: 3 condis (when leaving shroud)

* Consume Conditions: full clear (30 secs CD)

* Dagger 4: 3 condis (12-18 secs CD)

* Shrouded Removal: 1 condi (per 3 secs in shroud)

* Spectral Walk: 1-6 condis (40 secs CD)

 

3. Lifeforce generation

* Dagger 1

* Axe 2

* Focus 4

* Spectral Armor

* Spectral Walk

* Unholy matyr

 

4. HP generation

* Dagger 2

* Unholy sanctuary

* Life from death

* Consume Conditions

* Vampiric

 

**Debuff anti-boons abilities**

 

* Focus 5 (3 boons, 16 secs CD)

* Axe 3 (2 boons, 9.5 secs CD, AOE)

* Dagger 3 (2 boons, 10-15 secs CD)

* Dagger 5 (1 boon, 17-25 secs CD, AOE)

* Spiteful Spirit (2-4 boons upon shroud entry, AOE)

* Chill of death (3 boons, 20 secs CD)
