Tabin.5729
Noobie here. I'm looking at Snowcrows raid build and I'm wondering why did they choose assasin's stat (251 precision) Greatsword + Sigil of Accuracy (7% crit) vs Berserker stats + Sigil of Impact? I understand the build no longer uses Decimate Defenses trait and instead uses Soul Eater. If you include Death Perception (33% crit rate), the crit rate in shroud form is 128% with spotter+banner. Without Death Perception, you're at 95% crit chance so maybe they are aiming for 100% crit chance outside of shroud? They will loose the Sigil of Impact bonus though. Methuselah.4376
I switch to Sigil of Impact when against KC. However, the reason is because you want your Gravediggers to crit as often as possible.
Dadnir.5038
You spend half your time out of shroud so you can't afford to have low precision. It's as simple as that.
Kulvar.1239
Considering that you have perfect cooldown management with both builds (you can use all you abilities on cooldown basically) If you spend less than ~45% of the fight duration in Reaper's shroud, a full berserker build is less effective than Snow Crows one. Snow Crows build effective power is 19367 without shroud and 23998 with shroud. Berzerker build effective power is 18705 without shroud and 24822 with shroud. -3.42% effective power without shroud and +3.43% effective power with shroud. Snow Crows big advantage is that it's more reliable with a smaller gap between with and without shroud. And you can be sure they tested berzerker build against the one they suggest and got better results using the second.
Anchoku.8142
All of the great replies above plus positioning and up-time for spotter and banner of discipline. Power-Necro _has_ to crit and cleave as much as possible for it to be good because it does not offer much else. In the first half of a fight, you will be in shroud auto-attacking but still need to exit, build LF, and use weapon skills when they come off cooldown. Under 50%, you drop most of your rotation and will be out of shroud using Gravedigger most of the time when your other big cleave skills are on cooldown. Crit chance outside of shroud is more important than crit chance inside because shroud is not meant to be camped. Death Perception's +33% crit chance in shroud and other, similar, traits are probably generous to better support builds that are not so min-maxed. This point kind of circles back to the question on gearing to highlight the importance of the power stat in power-Necro builds.
AlexndrTheGreat.8310
In the rotation they have, the only time they enter death shroud is with the axe/warhorn set (besides during the opener), so they will have the Death Perception trait at that time. The GS is Crit focused because you spend the entire time in that weapon set outside of Death Shroud, so they want to cap Crit as much as possible with that weapon.
