The new Glyph of Crucible

Glyph of Crucible

Replaces gathering results with materials used in lower-level crafting recipes.

Material types are determined by the type of node gathered from.

This glyph appears to be a reverse of the recent Glyph of Alchemy

Replaces gathering results with materials used in higher-level crafting recipes. Material types are determined by the type of node gathered from. Mithril ore, elder wood, and select cooking ingredients can be improved a limited number of times each day.

Glyph of Alchemy would turn a mithril gathering into orichalcum. And you could upgrade 150 times a day.

So it stands to reason that Glyph of Crucible works in the same way, downgrading by one level.

Which have one thing immediately comming to mind. Mithril ore sells for 43 copper on tp, whereas Platinum ore sells for 1silver and 68 copper. A -significant- increase in value from harvesting mithril in lvl 80 zones, and not having to farm in lower level areas for platinum.

To compare with Glyph of Alchemy upgrading the sale value of Mithril ore from 43 copper to 87 copper for Orichalcum, its all too clear that Glyph of Crucible wins out by a long margin.

Glyph of Crucible is wasted being on a logging tool imho as downgrading from elder wood to hard wood is a value loss. 1silver and 34copper, to a mere 85 copper when selling.

Theres no quote of limited number of downgrades on the Crucible glyph, unlike the Alchemy one. I saw that ingame.
