A New Novelty Idea - Wildlife Creatures

Recommended Posts

Using some new form of novelty item to be able to equip life size wildlife creatures that are NON combative just like current minis. This could co-exist with the current systems seamlessly. Obviously they would have to remain out of any competitive environments to reduce and maintain minimal visual clutter.

They actually did try something like this with the [Pet Dog Whistle](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pet_Dog_Whistle:_Basenji "Pet Dog Whistle") which summons one of the ambient Basenji dogs from Path Of Fire. The dog does tricks and, over time, you can teach it to learn new ones.

The trouble is:

a.) choosing which summons would be visual clutter and which wouldn't

b.) avoiding a 'due to rising player population x has been hidden' situation

c.) getting someone to code in all the different skills for the animal to learn

d.) convincing ArenaNet to create yet another system of minis

In short, it's not a very cost effective idea when miniatures are already a thing. You can dream, though.

And really, if you want a Hydra to follow you, it's very simple:

Step one: Try to avoid a Hydra.

Step two: Congratulations, you have five of them following you; you're also on fire, melting from acid exposure, frozen, and poisoned. :+1:

What would I love is for ANet for add different skins that you can get in place of the Basenji: a Sylvan Hound, for example.

Ain't that the truth. I'm still waiting for one of those things to wander into LA because I happened to look in its general direction while in Elona a week ago, or some other dumb reason like that.

Don't worry, it'll show up in Sparkfly Fen to bulldoze you while you try to fight Tequatl.
