chad.8701
If you don't want to risk the money, power level a f2p account to 60 and see how the lag is.

Abjurer.9302
You can use the "/ip" command to get your server's IP and ask your friends if they can ping it.

Balthazzarr.1349
the ping will depend on your own connection though, including your modem/router etc

DemonSeed.3528
Do a traceroute/ping on the /ip and identify any nodes on the hops that may have some latency issues. Not all the hops will respond to ping though but you will get a general idea of what kind of latency you will get. I forgot to add, it's probably a good idea if someone from the region does /ip and passes the person who is not on region the ip address to test traceroute/ping on. Least amount of hops [servers to route through] + lowest latency for pings [i could give you any number, but lowest possible that you can get is what to aim for]. Optimator.3589
For a slow-paced game like WoW, a ping of <120-140 ms is acceptable. For this game, <100 ms is pretty much mandatory. That said, in large 3-way zerg fights, your ping is irrelevant because of server-induced skill lag.

Ah no wonder that looks familiar, it is similar to cloudping.info which has a lighter on the eyes page for pinging the aws servers.
