Unable to connect to login server message, lag spikes

these may be two separate issues, but it's been since the last patch (not the one today).

 

I regularly get the "unable to connect to login server" message in game - this has been frequent, but aside from the message, no issues are present. I'm not the only one, numerous members of my guild are complaining of the same.

 

During meta events with large squads, we will also often get 3-5 second lag spikes, and it's not JUST one person, usually the whole squad.

 

Are these known issues? It appears to be on the server side.
