Are you really comparing the killing Zhaitan fight with the killing Mordremoth fight> They may both be dragons but they couldn't be more different. This game has done nothing but change. Mechanics, flavor. Hell, gliding and updrafts have changed the game significantly. Now mounts will do the same thing.

Maybe you think it would be good to be different and the boss of the story should be a mad refrigerator, but I don't. Different isn't always good. Archetypes exist for a reason. Rift, WoW, Skyrim, Guild Wars 2 all use dragons. Even kunnevang was a dragon. They also have armor and weapons, but you're not complaining about that

That we're fighting a god is not really relevant, since in one story we fought a god imprisoned in the realm of torment, not a god running around Tyria. Nor were we racing that god to an elder dragon that suddenly we can't allow him to kill.

Sorry but this entire topic is way off base.

tldr; I'm happy that I can move faster than other professions and want to keep that monopoly.

Games change, metas change, mounts are freeing in that way. Instead of having to get specific runes to move faster, or take specific skills, you can play what you actually want to play. Sounds pretty freeing to me.

Not sure why you had to miss the event instead of turning off your volume for five minutes. The guy was clearly wrong to do that, but you know, you're only a victim in that situation if you don't have a volume control...which you do.

PvE IS a reward track.

To me the HoT maps are fantastic. AB is my least favorite map and I quite like it. VB and TD are brilliant. And I even like Dragon Stand, but I hate the timer that kicks me out. I've completed each of the HoT maps many times. 36 times for VB and 14 times for TD (so far). AB almost as many times as VB and DS more times than TD. Good stuff. I really do like map complexity

You use it once to get a character to 80..

As you say it only matters for WvW and work links aren't permanent and can change at any time, so there's no way to predict it. Not everyone plays a ton of WvW, I ,know I don't, so it's less important for me. Try to get on the best world you can, but unless you really think you're going to be into WvW, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

They changed the way hero points are displayed recently so that it looks like you haven't done them even if you have Just mouse over the number on the map next to hero points and the ones you actually need will flash.

This makes it clearer to people that HoT hero points which are repeatable can still give you a reward for that day.

With the last patch they added a new PIO in Lion's Arch for everyone. So this happened to everyone. It was Ellen Kiel's office in Lion's Arch.

You know how VB gets a lot better with masteries. The same is true of AB and Verdant Brink. Learn how to use Nuhoch wallows and exalted markings and there are far more options of how to get from one place to another.

Orr isn't dead, people need to be more proactive. Pop a tag, start a group. that's how you get the Temple of Balthazar done. Most people don't even buy shards their anymore, because they have HOT and use the currencies of the new zones to defer karma costs. I know I buy my obby shards in AB and VB. The currency is easier to get and costs less karma.

8 Days is a long time. Did you get the automated response from that at least?

You can make the elixir any time. You need to gather egg shells, suet, winterberreis and get a grawl heat stone from the karma vendor in the grawl cage. That means doing the heart again as well.

This poll has no answer I can accept. If an optional subscription existed, I'm relatively sure I'd pay for it. But I don't think it's right for the game and it might actively hurt the game, depending on what it includes. However just the stigma of having an optional sub can turn some people away. If you want to support the game, buy $15 a gems a month. There's your optional subscription. I spend more than that anyway.

I wish people would stop saying this. Anet NEVER said there would be no mounts. They only said there would be no mounts at this time.

I've always been a proponent of mounts. Not as something to make you go faster, which seems to be a big issue for people, but as something that you can use to collect and add identity to your character. I know there are characters I have who'll use each of them mounts, because it suits who thy are. It's one of the reasons I play MMOs. I also do the same with titles and minis. Another avenue to customize my character is always a good thing to me.

Aside from that, there are plenty of people in this game who feel they have to take certain build/trait combinations or use certain runes to gain swiftness uptime, or a speed boost. With mounts, you get a bit more freedom if that's a concern for you.

I have 36 characters. They call this game fashion wars for a reason. I have so many awesome skins that I can use in so many awesome combinations. I have an amazing looking pirate character, complete with a peg leg, a hook, and he even shouts yarr and summones a parrot periodically because I'm using runes of the privateeer. I have many themed characters that look awesome. Plenty of reasons for me to make another character. Hell, I have some power builds and some condi builds on different characters. I won't go back and forth between druid and beastmaster, I'll just make one of each and not have to worry about swapping armor and weapons out Plenty of reasons.
