    Not to me. He is a thorn in my side every episode. This would be fine for a villain/antagonist. However, it is not good for a companion the pc is supposed to like and one without dialogue choices (part of the frustration is the pc saying the opposite of what I would like her to say to him).

  2. Here are a few things I would like to see:

    * Housing

    * New cultural armor

    * More dialogue options (both choices and expressing opinions)

    * Continuing or resolving unresolved plots from previous expansions (Zojja, Pale Tree, Malyck, etc.)

    * Quest journal/system for more Caladbolg-style quests

    * A mix of map types -- some exploration-focused and some focused on HoT-style metas

  3. Hopefully so! I would also like to see what is going on with her. I picked to save her first, so hopefully that helped a bit. Maybe in the next expansion, although that is not for a while. Unfortunately, a lot of plot points from HoT were left unresolved. I think that the story focuses too much on one race at the expense of the overall story. We should have been able to check in on Zojja at least briefly, even if they were generally focusing on humans following HoT.

  4. Overall I enjoyed it. Here are my thoughts:

    Pros

    * Beetle is great

    * Cutscenes and long story segments

    * Joko commenting on a previous story decision

    * Stealth part in the second story mission was fun -- usually I don't like stealth, but I liked it here. Maybe because it was more active with being able to teleport.

    * Canach

    Cons

    * Map meta was boring. Please bring back HoT-style metas or world bosses. Maybe not for every map, but for a few of the updates.

    * Trap section of the story

    * Getting experience that was wasted as a reward (because I didn't have the beetle at that point) and 0 AP achievements

    * Braham:

    * Not sure why we went alone with him to face Joko. Surely we could have used the rest of our companions as well for the big fight? Or, at least let us decide who to take with us.

    * I also don't like the pc saying how much they want Braham in the group when I wish he would just leave. Maybe that sort of dialogue could be optional (something we pick rather than having the pc say it automatically)

  5. I don't think we need a new meta on every map. However, it has been a long while since we got a large HoT-style meta or world boss, and I would like to see another. It provides repeatable content for me to do after I am done with the story content. I don't like the heart quests much so without a good meta there is not a lot for me to do on these maps after I have completed the story/exploration.

    Another thing that might have influenced my reaction as compared with yours is that I didn't see Braham as a teenager. 22 is young, yes, but still an adult, and he looks like an adult in the game. Also, the pc didn't do anything that I could see to provoke such an extreme reaction and for such a long time. I didn't like that the pc couldn't stick up for herself and just had to stand there and meekly take all the toxic things Braham said to her. Why would the pc want this person as a friend or take him on important missions?

    This.

    > Yes and no. It's something we consider often, but consider 5 races * 10 personalities * 3 background options * 3 background options * minimum of 4 background options = 1800 potential combinations that affect the personal story BEFORE you get into choices made during the personal story. So it's more if someone mentions that we could provide a slightly tweaked alt on this line of dialogue that would be relevant to one of those combos, we'll slip it in, but otherwise the scope bloat just makes us cry in the corner whenever we think about it.

    How about having a few dialogue choices in each episode? In most cases this could be similar dialogue choices for all. Not all have to be big choices; some could just be picking how the pc reacts to things. I think this would help a lot.

    > * Our first chat will take place this week, on Thursday and Friday, March 15 and 16.

    > * The topic will be Living World Season 4, Episode 2.

    > * Guests will include members of the Dev and Narrative Teams. I'll post intros when we start, but others may join in, as well.

    > * We will open the subforum on Thursday morning a bit in advance of the time the devs will be joining in, to allow you to post your questions. So feel free to think of your questions, feedback, and comments about LW24E2 now, and be ready to post!

    I won't be available to post during the day on Thursday. Would it work to post a question Thursday night to potentially be answered during the Friday session? Or, is there another way to submit questions? Thanks!

    Likes:

    * Loved being able to get a 32-slot bag by doing quests and events in the area :)

    * The new map looks great -- one of the best released for lw so far

    * Liked that the npcs in the charr village make a reference to the pc's race. This makes it feel more personal.

    * Liked how the story flowed together

    * Liked the charr village

    * Thought the new charr and asura party members were interesting

    * It is always great to see Aurene helping out :)

    Dislikes

    * Braham -- I really dislike this character and am not sure why the pc would call him to help over other party members such as Canach or Rytlock

    * No dialogue choices for the pc during the story -- I would like some more interactivity in the story, even if it is just to pick the pc's reactions in a few instances

    * Not very keen on stealth missions

    > Well, they did change the words...it's not just a fear not this night cover. It's saying something very different.

    This! The Pale Tree is not singing "Who needs the light?"

    Great trailer overall. Looking forward to the episode!

  11. I have played both GW2 and SWTOR (although I am not a current subscriber), and here are my thoughts as a causal player.

    **Combat/Mechanics:** I like GW2's combat much better overall. In the story releases the boss fights have different mechanics that often make them interesting. In SWTOR they sometimes just give the boss a lot of hp, and the boss fights can be boring. In GW2 I do miss having a lot of spells, though.

    **Story:** SWTOR's base game has a much better story. There are lots of dialogue options and choices, and there are companions to talk to and travel with. There are some good characters in GW2, but the story is not very interactive, and as a player you are mostly just watching.

    Unfortunately, in 2017, however, SWTOR's new story releases have been awful: the companions have almost no dialogue, and they relegated the story to flashpoints, which are not a main-story friendly format. So, in 2017 I would say GW2 had the better story.

    **Cash Shop/Monetization:** SWTOR has a monthly fee, which I don't mind if they are releasing content regularly, but lately they haven't been. I don't like paying a monthly fee for nothing, or not knowing what I am going to get for new content. If you are not a SWTOR subscriber, there are a lot of restrictions (and you can't even post on the forum!). GW2 has no monthly fee and so no restrictions. I also like GW2's cash shop better. GW2 releases more new items that you can buy outside of rng packs (although, there are those as well).

    **World/Exploration:** GW2 has a much more friendly open world where everyone gets loot, and there is not much fighting over resources or objectives. It is easy to jump in and contribute to world bosses and events, which is great for a causal player. I especially like the meta events. GW2 has also recently been releasing a lot of new maps to explore. The downside to GW2's open world is the heart quests. These are boring, and I much prefer traditional quests.

  12. Here is my feedback:

    Likes:

    * Large amount of content -- the map was pretty big and the story felt substantial

    * New keys and currencies added to the wallet

    Dislikes:

    * Having no dialogue choices -- In general but also specifically in relation to Braham. I am not sure why the pc tolerates him, really. We should have some dialogue choices and have the option to express opinions rather than being a doormat.
