(Grindier + you also need a lot more of the map resources than in the previous map. If you want do to the unique stuff for achievements ... like that banner of the commander.) > The main problem is that the mobs don't drop anything (when there's nowhere near enough of them to justify it), giving zero reason to go back. Add the lack of a fixed timer, and that's probably why it's not done very often. And yes, boring golem with too much health and pointless invulnerable phases to make it even more boring.
  2. > @"Cleopatra.4068" said: > Right now I want the volatile magic gathering tools because I am playing those maps. If they don’t come back until I’m done playing LS4, though, I will probably never buy them. I’m not going to go back and play those maps again later just because the tools come back 6 months from now. I want them for convenience. They are only convenient while I need them. If the rotation comes around while I’m playing them, they will get purchased. If it comes around once I’m done, I won’t. Some stuff is always useful, but other stuff isn’t. They're a great purchase anyway, for several reasons: You'll save a lot of money/karma from not buying regular tools. They won't run out in the middle of gathering. (so you won't have to waste time killing the 5 mobs that are chasing you before you can equip a new set) It'll actively encourage you to gather the nodes that you happen to go past on your way. (which means more gold) Once you're done with the S4 maps/collections, you can buy leather or trophy shipments instead. (which means more gold)
  3. This is from a lower-tier perspective, but the only ones I don't like are Mai Trin (short but annoying), Sirens Reef (good theme but a clusterfck of random crap at the end), Twilight Oasis (first/last boss and hard to navigate) and Sunqua Peak (buggy and way out of step with the others in terms of difficulty). > @"Firebeard.1746" said: > I agree with OP, most of them feel drawn out. That being said, I hate it when people just skip all the trash too. I want trash clearing and boss fights, but doesn't take 1 hour. This. Skipping some is ok, but NOT on Twilight Oasis...the sand bosses aren't a problem later on, but everyone ALWAYS skips the trash at the start and often leads to wipes on the first boss. (in fact an entire group disbanded on it earlier today after 2 wipes) (already beginning to regret trying to start on T3)
  4. I like the item converters that you get from achievements.
  5. > @"Pacificterror.7805" said: > Sort of regret buying the Recharging Teleport to Friend thingy. It'd be more useful if I actually had people to teleport to, so in THAT scenario it isn't a waste, but I shouldn't have made the purchase based on a possible future scenario. It's great for joining meta squads at the last minute and porting straight there without going through extra loading screens.
  6. > @"HnRkLnXqZ.1870" said: > **Mistlock Sanctuary Pass** > I really like that place, not only for the convenience, also for the area itself. Everything looks so good, the NPCs, the architecture, the sound-track is also great. I prefer to park most of my utility-characters in one location, close to banks and crafting-stations. That also applies for the Mistlock Sanctuary. But if I dare to leave a character there, especially in front of the bank, it takes ages to load. > - Quickly switching through characters to craft components and store them on another. > - Quickly return with a gather-character which just ran out of gathering-tools. > - Do the Daily Mystic Forger or craft several MF recipes within close range to the bank/storage and vendors. > > All the reasons I need the convenience area for, the Mistlock Sanctuary cannot satisfy due to its intense loading times. It is too popular :S. I bought the pass, used it a few weeks and now it rests in my bank. At the moment I returned to my old HQ in Rata Sum, which takes a fraction of the loading-time, has awesome architecture and also pretty nice access to the convenience-relevant services. I rather return there with my gather-characters to restock, although I have to walk back to the spot on my own. > > Next time my gold-balance reaches a healthy level again, I gonna craft a Portal Scroll for Rata Sum. For the times Rata Sum is crowded, e.g. during SAB, I use my Ebonhawke Portal Scroll. > > I eventually thought the same about Lily of the Elon (PoF deluxe edition)...very handy while playing through PoF and for using the mystic forge, but takes forever to load. When I learned about portal scrolls I never looked back...nowadays it's Lion's Arch for the mystic forge and Ebonhawke for everything else.

While joining a group in a dungeon, why am I always in combat when I just entered? I don't care if my team mates are in combat, I am not and I should be able to waypoint in the dungeon instead of sitting there until they are finished fighting. Many times I just left the group after a while. Sometimes I do not want to walk all that distance where there is a waypoint right there I can use. Terrible design. And when I fnish that 200 AP dungeon achievement I will not be returning again. > > if you were not people could just die use way point and zerg down anything in the dungeon as long as 1 person were alive. Or they could simply make it distinguish between someone who died in the dungeon and someone who's just entered the dungeon. (eg. WoW doesn't put the whole group in combat when one person enters combat, at least not those who are far away)
  8. And no need to cook them either! (unless you want big golden chips that you can't say no to)
  9. > And see them not even making a Kodan allied faction by the end of this, hell centaurs even. Means what we saw in release trailers was all fake worldbuilding lol. What you saw was the original plan, before the management team left and the plan was replaced by "create a new expansion ASAP". (think of it as being like GoT series 7+8, being truncated and rushed out so they could focus on the new SW movies)

(looking at you, Dark Reverie) > @"Lucio.4190" said: > A couple of words from Mukluk regarding jump puzzles: > It is an amazing gizmo, but it doesn't work all the time: It won't stop you going splat on intentional falls. (like the pirate cave one mentioned earlier) You can't fight mobs with it. (though most of those JP's are fairly easy) It won't work at all on JP's that involve carrying items with action skills. (which sadly keeps Draconis Mons out of reach) The 30-second CD naturally slows you down, but can time out sometimes if it's not clear where to go (eg. that mursaat token down the inescapable pit) And your own reflexes can sometimes get you, if you get too used to clicking 1 all the time.

The NPC sells the Prototype Position Rewinder, which is a personal return-button for difficult jumps with a very short cooldown. > Sadly it doesn't work on Draconis Mons...and given that the only JP in LW5 (Grothmar) also blocks it, I'd expect all future JP's to do the same. Works wonders for the others, though. (especially the nightmare mursaat token hunt known as Ember Bay)
  12. 2020 - Levelled up 2nd character (1st one was 2 years before) and this time played through all the expansions, LW, most dungeons and T2 fractals. Spent too much time playing, so ended up with ascended set, portal scrolls and various weapon skins. (while kicking myself for not spending more time on RL issues) 2021 - Sleepwalk through the replacement content for the rest of LW5 while taking breaks in between until EoD hits, then whine about the lag on new maps (you don't really think lockdown will end this year do you?) before taking a break and finishing it some time later. (while kicking myself for not spending more time on RL issues)

I just feel that these devices are too different to put into the same item (even though all of them can be considered teleporters). The city portal scrolls.
  14. > @"Hesione.9412" said: > Coming to GW2 from WoW cataclysm, I hated that expansion because of what it did to some of the maps. We've already gone through major map changes in places like LA, and I find the maps less interesting after the change (e.g. the original LA was great with all the x,y,z paths, now it's pretty much one flat map). > Don't forget they scrapped 2 whole raids out of pure laziness, giving us only half a tier at a time for most of that expac. (World of Fashion was a good move, but LFR was a disaster) And it feels exactly the same with this current patch - all the maps scrapped (the ones that had datamined slots in the portal tome), but only giving us a quarter of an episode for the rest of this LW. (only difference is we know it's mostly down to a new expac in the works)
