  1. I dont play raids and fractals or pvp. Im doing dailies and landscape group events + story. I have some events that I really like so I often do them. For example Claw of Jormag. Sometimes im spending time in HoT, while sometimes on Central Tyria events, and sometimes mixing both. I like PoF as expansion but didnt find any extra event there that I would often aim to do. I must say those events like Dragons Stand, Claw of Jormag, Tequatl, that big one in Auric Basin... are right up my alley. What gives me more fun is doing achievements for something good. Like some gear or like atm Im doing skyscale achievement. I dont feel like Im playing solo because I often interact with people through say/map chat or I join commander groups. Even when my character is downed and when some person from far away comes to help me is form of interaction that I find nice. I like how you can in this game play with lot of people but you are not forced to do raids. I think this game have some of innovative design ideas when comes approach to group game. I know other MMOs have public events too but I think GW2 made best job with them.
  2. Good question, interesting topic. I'm doing achievements only if they provide me something that I need. Like mastery point or some gear etc. Atm im missing about 500 achievement points to get 400 gems (5k ap is needed for that) so i could unlock some stuff from store. So since i'm close to that i'm doing achievements now so I could get those gems. I got to about 4500 just because I was trying to get stuff mentioned earlier in text + dailies. I think some people like to clear lists. I can understand that there is something beautiful when you see all things done i'm just lazy to clear all.
  3. I gave 3. Its not all so negative in my head since that some parts with Jormag I find really nice and I heard some nice in-game music too while doing this story. I hope they will give us more lore about Jormag in the future, I really like that dragon.
  4. Yeah, I agree with this idea. I hope they will really put something new with more community spirit next year.
  5. Mastery points are part of the gameplay. They are designed for players to have some goal and to have something to play. This game dont have typical quest packs with bunch of quests and dailies like some other MMOs. System is designed that they motivate you to do mastery points so you can unlock some cool ability or something for your character. I really like that and it is some of the reasons I have migrated from LOTRO to GW2 for example. With that comes motivation for many players to join on landscape group events because some of those gives you MP. Also one day I have joined map-clearing train in PoF and got some MP with their help. Imagine if those hard earned mastery points you can buy in gem store, there would be less organisations for grouping. Which would eventually lead to that players losing oportunity to play with other people while they clearing maps. LOTRO was destroyed with this kind of store stuff, believe me you dont want that. Their most populated EU server have only about 1000 no-anon people online in peak time (we can see that number in game). Someone mentioned it earlier on this thread that many left the game because of that and it is true.
  6. If they ever put mastery points in gem store im done with this game. I like how they are very much. I actually find that part with mastery points and end game design as genius design.
  7. Mobs are very annoying, I agree with you guys and girls about that part. It really destroy exploration experience. I wouldnt mind if they stay like they are, just would be nice if they were made little bit less annoying.
  8. I was there too, experienced the same. But sadly I dont have solution and I assume it is a bug.
  9. I dont play PvP so I will just say for PvE. I have played LOTRO for 9 years and that game is now 13 years old game. We could say that I have experience with game "dying". After coming to GW2 what I have noticed that this game is in quite good shape. Yeah there are some maps that dont have people but I must say as quite new player that those Dailies leading you with events everyday to some other map (which bring life to that map) and I find it as really good approach to "dead" maps. In LOTRO old content stay old and empty forever. I have done some achievements on some maps when they were part of daliy events quest. It is helpful. Maybe game is 8 year old and it is not in boost of fresh new energy but seems to me, compared to some other MMOs it actually doing quite nice. I mean it will never be what you saw when game was young but it is not dead game.
