  1. I don't see what the problem is. Comparatively speaking Soulbeasts never had that great many numbers in WvW and in fact are regularly less populous than the rest of the classes used in WvW, except maybe for Revenant. However Revenants are wanted in allied zergs more than a ranger would be. Most soulbeasts will be op roamers, but their usually shoved to the side in larger groups that have particular meta-groupings of firebrands, scourge, guards, dome warrirors, healing ele's and support engineers. In fact there's little to no meta-group builds for Soulbeasts within a zerg. At best we're used as harrasers, and the one job of headhunting most commanders tell us not to headhunt, because they want a "fair fight". I would prefer to win with every trick in the book, so Soulbeasts, and ranger's in general are most commonly cast offs.

  2. Hard to do Twice-Told Legend, if you can only craft it once. You'd have to just do First Generation weapons and you'd have to use the dropped precursors or one dropped precursor and one crafted of the same. Still, Would have loved to have had two Astralaria's on my ranger for Axe/Axe, but now it pretty much says I can't. It's not like we're gonna sell the 2nd gens since we can't. Overall the costs are still up there, and it really shouldn't effect anything that much at all.

  3. Sadly I had made Astralaria, and gave it to my ranger. Tonight I decided I wanted to do Twice-Told Legend and went for a 2nd Astralaria. Axe/Axe for my Ranger. However, after making all the required gifts I get to making The Mechanism for a second time. Lo and behold at the very bottom it said, "You have crafted this item already", and would not let me craft The Mechanism. As for the skin, I tried reskinning an ascended axe into Atralaria. It does not recognize that as a second legendary, sorry to say. Which leaves me out a couple hundred gold, resources and time. Because now I pretty much nearly have everything to build a 2nd Astralaria, but now i'm blocked from doing so. I don't see why I'm not allowed to make a second, 2nd gen legendary weapon of the same type. It makes no sense. Especially for that specific title. And I would have been super happy to have two Astralaria's since, well gee wiz, I thought it would look cool on my ranger also. Can someone explain why I'm disallowed from making another Astralaria, for Twice-Told Legend?

  4. If an enemy group stacks tight enough, they can appear on the map as One Single Dot. However, I have not seen one group, except maybe 7 years ago, that had stacked so tight, you couldn't tell their #'s. It would appear to you as a single Dot, and if they stealthed...well may the six gods have mercy on your soul.

  5. They are few and far between. Some were, disbanded, or had their civil wars and are reformed, or currently reforming. You'll have to ask around on your server. Many players still consider WvW as a Capture the Flag game. Your GvG guilds do still exist, you just have to find them. Some servers have them, some do not.

  6. Ranger Sword/Dagger is an evasion build. Nothing more, nothing less, it's never been about damage. Considering the evades from their competitors, i don't think you deserve a telegraph on how they're going to "evade".

  7. If it's a bug, you Report Bug. And if you get enough players to report it, maybe something can happen. But with work being done on the new Cantha release for next year, and with the Icebrood Sage continueing, gonna say they might be a little busy. But you are right. After so many years. If it's a bug then it's a legitimate bug. However if it's not a bug, someone from Anet should come out and say that's how it's supposed to work, and that it's not a bug. Keeping people "In the loop" goes further than remaining silent on the subject and brooding over it, just because your "Boss" says that he'll deal with it later. Pretty soon the employees stop pestering the boss about the situation and give up. This sounds like one of those things.

I used to teach sword/dagger skills to other ranger's. Considering the # of nerfs, i don't feel that those skills need any telgraphs.

  8. The skill comes in handy as "what's happening nearby". For scouts it's imperative to know what's ahead of your group, so you can warn them when there's another group hiding, or another enemy scout that could spot your party. Being able to know where the enemy group or scout is, can keep your group from running head long into a trap, or be able to determine a new path to the location they need to go without being spotted. It's a tactical advantage. Use it. Many times I come to an area that has crossroads and narrow walls and i'll hit Sniff and see an oncoming group of 40 orange dots that I as about to run into. It's a life saver too.

    > You got to know how to move, where to move, when to commit and most importantly, who to target. The tactics of a 360 degree cloud seems to be lost on 90% of pugs.

    >

    > That said, anything with ranged will be easiest and if you want to be "group effective" in the cloud, you need some kind of pull. Overcoming the perma-stab is what kills zergs, in the long run it doesnt matter if *you* can kill your target, as long as they can be pulled out someone else can CC, do damage and pull them even further. Most clouders unfortunetly miss that fact and focus on just doing basic damage. Works against a pug zerg, futile against an organized group with supports that knows how to sustain.

The pugs are usually the ones that refuse to use meta profession or meta builds for zerg play, and are the one's kept at arms length from the zerg commander and his lietenants. Believe me, most of the "pugs" already know how to cloud, which infuriates a lot of the head on commanders that want to hit a solid body, not a swarm of insects he's waving blithly about in order to destroy. Much easier to hit a stand up target than a mosquito flitting around your ear.

  10. There are entire guilds that will farm you once they learn that your attempting a "Ktrain" in Edge of the Mist. And they will send their best battle lords to rip your group to shreds. Edge of the Mist was full of Ktrains early on, those Ktrains turned into complete battles unique all to themselves due to the unique terrain, and unique mechanics. Then the Legendary Backpiece came out, and EotM emptied out to refill the body's in regular WvW. But after that. Edge of the Mist turned into a ghost town as people got burned out with regular grind WvW for the backpiece. Once they got the backpiece....they never went back. After that battle became a "hassle", and the "grind" kinda destroyed the fun.

You've never played ranger have you.

  12. In order to farm badges. There's no afk or easy fix. You have to be active and commited to battle...and earn them just like everyone else. Anet made it so that you can afk farm the stuff. You earn nothing for not doing the work. Which means for you, it's going to be a grind. Good things come to those who grind.

  13. We have Entangling vines, but they only work when someone isn't got a whole slew of permastability on. Otherwise it's worthless. people say that's not true, and then i'd tell them play ranger for 8 years and get back to me. We have several abilities to "root" enemy down, but they only work when boon strips have been applied to keep the enemy from using Stability. Otherwise, NONE of them work. Vines. Hound. Traited interupt can root an enemy. Against thieves and mesmers and teleport guardians, they are ALL useless.

  14. Think the idea is what Anet is gonna do with "Pug" players that will not be part of any major Guild Alliance. What do you do with all the solo players. "Oh well they can just join up with one of the Guild's in that alliance....." Seriously? I seen some of the big Guilds and their little backroom alliances...i don't like where that was headed to begin with. And i don't think it would have created a "positive" atmosphere or dialogue concerning WvW's future in general. All I seen was just a lot of politics, half kept promises of how the alliances were going to form in the first place. Many of the major guilds in all the Servers...after Alliances was announced, went full out testing each other in Obsidian Sanctum. Measuring each others ability, so they could "Choose" which guilds they were gonna ally with for Alliances. Pugs, solo players, and small guilds....were pretty much left fending for themselves. I saw the whole alliance thing from the bottom rung of the WvW food chain. It was not a pretty sight. The so called big guilds were at the banquet table...and the small guilds were what? Given combat scraps? No participation? And all you people could do was say "well they can just disband and join the larger guild. I don't LIKE large guilds. Too much noise. Too much ego. Too many problems.

  15. You people go "Rangers are Op" but only 1 out 10 commanders will take them into a zerg, the other 9 commanders tell the ranger to reroll? Yah we're going to dismount you, if we want to slow you down, to keep you from your target destination. Your the enemy. What? We're just supposed to wave at you as you pass by?

  16. Edge of the Mist was live before the Legendary Back Piece. Anet's version of getting body's back into WvW. It worked. EotM emptied out, and every went for the back piece. However there was repurcussions. People went back into wvw main, got burned out, and pretty much said screw it. Now Several servers don't have the manpower to do...much of anything. It's all one big "fight" and i'm starting to get bored of it.
