  1. When the game is really messed up, the community changes. People who don't center their lives around a computer game tend to leave more easily. They are more likely to say "well, I've got better things to do. I have to work a lot to fullfill my regular responsibilies, so I want to have an enjoyable free time. This is not entertaining enough to be worth my time so I'm leaving." Note that I'm just talking about a tendency.

On the other hand, there are people whose lives are centered around a video game which they put tremendous efforts in. These people tend to stay even when the game isn't really fun anymore. And the toxicity you're facing ingame is the result of people's anger. It's the anger on the state of the game, which is partly justified, but there is a much deeper feeling of uselessness in the world, the lack of aim in life, that really is behind all this in my opinion.

  2. I fought warriors as sword weaver and sword weavers as warrior and I think it's clear that warrior counters s/d weaver. There is not much you can do here. It's another story for s/f fresh air ele, you can quite easily kite warriors and win fights with this build.

Rename into Bad Luck Brian. Gain 100 stacks of might and 50 stacks of confusion.

You turn into a communist. Gain 1000 condition damage, but also apply 10 stacks of vulnerability and 10 seconds of weakness to yourself.

Everyone in the opponent team gets a bluescreen.

Rename into "Tornado of Savageness": Spawns one out of 20 random insults in the /say chat every 2 seconds. Duration: 10 seconds

That's not cool enough. How about xXxtreme_Wor1d break0r_xXx?

Main weapon: Charrzooka with 5000 range shooting a nuclear missile that deals 50k unblockable aoe damage and homes in on targets while travelling through walls.

  6. Sword is designed around killing mobs, not players. If you make a dps test, sword weaver deals quite some damage, although the risk/reward ratio is still way off. But that's just the damage on paper. In reality, casttimes, low range and general clumsiness reduce the damage output of sword against other players to a really low amount. They have to reduce casttimes and increase the range of sword to 300 if they ever want to make sword weaver viable in pvp.

    > 2. I agree Unravel is lackluster and I don't use it. Again, simple.

    > 3. Sword has better mobility, more evades and better sustain. Sword doesn't root you in place and doesn't rely on ground-targeted smallish aoes for its damage. Of course staff needs to have higher damage.

    >

    > On the pvp side I don't know. Staff Weaver is good in large-scale wvw, but extremely vulnerable in roaming/pvp scenarios. Sword should be better there, but I don't really know its capabilities as I don't really do either (roaming/pvp).

So you can't criticize something in its current state because since its the current state it is reality and should therefore not be criticized. This is circular reasoning. Following that, your, logic, people should never criticize anything because if they don't like it they should switch without complaining. No sir, this is not how to participate constructively in an argument.

    > Unravel is a terrible idea and whoever came up with it should be told that, there is no point creating an elite spec then making one of its utility skills a way to undo it, what’s even worse about unravel is that it’s duration is so low you can at most get 2 uses out of it, usually just 1 use out of it.

    >

I think the story behind unravel is that weaver felt incredibly clunky to play even to the devs so they introduced a utility to get around what they perceived as a weakness. They should have sticked to that observation and changed the swap mechanic to begin with. Imho, unravel is proof that the devs know that this swap mechanic sucks.

  9. Known issues that Arenanet hasn't done anything about:

    1) Broken attunement swap mechanic that locks you out of imporant offhand skills

    2) Unravel is an insolence. We have to fix the broken attunement mechanic ourselves by sacrificing a utility slot. People have been demanding an additional function of this utility but Arenanet ignores them.

    3) Sword damage is a plain joke compared to the downsides of sword and weaver. Why would staff with a 1200 range out-dps a sword with 130 range on the most vulnerable class in the game? That doesn't make any sense at all. See 5) as well.

    Specifically in WvW/PvP:

    4) Sword Weaver can't chase down opponents.

    5) Fighting with a sword feels like waving a toothpick. 130 Range is a joke. Also part of the reason for 4)

  10. skill > effort

The ranking should represent the best players, not the most active ones. They did what you suggest to the table tennis world ranking and it's just pathetic. Ma Long, the best player in the world, is now world rank 7 although he would wipe the floor with everyone from 3-6 unless he had a bad day.

  11. Your position on the subject has been ridiculed the moment you claimed you made these 400 points alone. You're simply that typical kind of young player with an exaggerated perception of their own influence in a competitive game. It's this group that makes up most of the complaints about the ranking system which is why Arenanet probably ignores the vast majority of these comments, and for good reason.

I played one myself a long time and it's frustrating af because there is nothing you can do against it. One reason being that every tiny skill of necro takes approximately an hour and a half to cast. You simply can't react properly because it's like you're playing a slow motion class.

    >

    > That's the issue though. When it comes to handling p/p thief it's all about your class and nothing to do with your skill. You either play a class endowed with enough projectile hate and ranged pressure at which point countering the p/p is easy, or you play a class that doesn't and all you can do is die.

Yes. That's a built in issue in Guild Wars 2 pvp. What you can do now are three things: 1) stop playing necro 2) stop playing the game 3) if the first two are no option for you, consider why you can't quit the game/the class. There must be something that you love about it. Remind yourself of it, bring that fact into your conscious mind and it will be much easier to deal with frustrating stuff like this.

I don't have a problem with p/p thief on other classes. When I play d/p thief I just spam #4 to interrupt his unload skill until he is dead due to pulmonary impact.
