    > Make it more of a collection, from common to rare fishes. I, sometimes spend time idling while having a conversation with guildies and friends, so I would love to visit that giant lobster seaport in LA and be there for a while. Worrying about bots is a lazy excuse to post about something you clearly don't care, and wouldn´t in anyway bother you in any aspect of your game experience.

You remind me, we also have 1 collection that involves fishing in game already. For Sun's Refuge (Jahai Bluffs map). Only once the collection is done you can't fish there anymore.

  2. We already have several implementations of fishing.

    1) Underwater combat style.

    2) Sandswept Isles event (throw something in the water and then lure it in, on the northern island).

    3) Thunderhead Peaks (lure a fish into a bucket straight from the water, at a heart in south near waypoint).

    4) Bjora Marches (fish event and fish scrap event, kill a fish on ice, pick it up, put it in a bucket on any fishing spot in the west of the map).

I.o.w. Anet did listen and has added fishing plenty of times by now.

Oh and they added a fishing rod weapon skin for staff in Bjora Marches, karma npc, as well.

  3. I don't think that a lot of players would use in game voice chat. The ones joining fast things won't (they prefer to avoid any communication in general, already by typing). Organised runs do sometimes use discord or equivalent which works fine. I have played an mmo with a built in voice chat but truth be told nobody used it. Everyone went to the superior teamspeak or discord and the company closed down their voice service in game. They also cannot monitor it in game which means it can be abused to bully/be toxic/and things against their tos.

I guess it may be easier to just start a discord page where everyone that does grouped content in gw could join and make their own temporary groups for group content in game. There are discord pages with raid training teams etc....

    >

    > Ah, I didn’t know that about the achievement. But that just proves my point that these should be in their own category. Or if not that, when there’s the same boss in the story and strike, clearly communicate which achievement is for which

I agree they could have stated that bit was during story part (or be consistent and tell for the achievements which is a strike mission as they did it with a couple of achievements). But then again, I think also the Boneskinner achieves could have been described better if its meta boss or strike.

  5. The achievement "Whisper Boxing" (Successfully Evaded the Whisper of Jormag's Rimebreath and Icicle Attacks) is not a strike mission achievement. Yes it is the Whisper of Jormag fight but it is the one in the last part of the story.

The achievements for the strike mission Whisper of Jormag are "Vortex, Interrupted" (Interrupted the Whisper of Jormag's Frigid Vortex 5 Times in One Encounter, aka his breakbar 5x), "Slither-less" (Complete the Whisper of Jormag Strike Mission without triggering Slithering Rime explosions, aka don't touch the balls that appear after 20% boss hp), "Reflections in the Ice" (Defeated Your Frozen Clone within 10 Seconds, aka defeat your clone) and "Legendary Whisper of Jormag" (Defeat the Whisper of Jormag in the Strike Mission).

This boss is challenging but once you know how it works it gets easier. Its exactly the same fight as in story for the most of it. Just make sure that at 20% hp left on boss you go ranged dps and do not stand in balls (theres telegraphs before those launch).

    > I just realized that we need to do Strike Missions in order to complete new map mastery? W.T.F? In 7 years playing this I've never seen something like this. There's a lot of people that don't do raid/strike mission content and shouldn't be forced to do them to complete a map's mastery. This is ridiculous ANET. You really need to make it optional like the previous ones cause not everyone does strike missions. That is content for a small portion of the community. I see what you are doing there and trying to force people to do them, but this is not the way. Make it more attractive so more players can join, but don't make it mandatory for personal progression. Just another failed thought process. So disappointed.

Hold on there... They added a new mastery point (bounties) and 2 mastery insights in Grothmar with same patch so you may want to check out there again :)

    > MMORPG = Massive Multiplayer, nothing about instanced 5-10 man content is massive. You're better off playing a lobby-based game like Warframe, MHW etc.

    > I'm not playing an MMO to distance myself from the large groups (Worldbosses, WvW, GMs) just to play some low-man lobby content. I'm here for the massive numbers. Zones full of people.

    >

    > This preconception that people that dislike that type of content never tried it is a joke. Same thing goes for the "open-world players are single players".

So you have raided in the past. This means you can do just 1x a strike in your lifetime just for the achievement no problem. I don't enjoy everything either but I do it if I want that specific achievement. Can just do it once and go back to things I do enjoy more no problem. So as I read your statement you have done the strike mission and got the achievements needed for the meta achievement so why complain? If you want something you get something and then do whatever you want to do (tho you wanted to get the achievement as well and by that wanted to do the strike mission at that moment else you would have just skipped the meta achievement). And to be honest, doing most worldbosses does feel like solo playing since there is no communication, no strategy, all for themselves and you don't even have to join any squad.

  8. Have no expectations and you will be fine. I don't expect anything big regarding the announce of Visions of the Past. It is probably just a post on the website here and not something hyped at PAX itself. What Visions of the Past will be, we will see by itself when it comes into the game and can play it to see what it is and if we like it.

  9. I agree with Ayrilana and Bosanac.

Strike missions are a preparation for raids but nobody would have been complaining if they had said its a preparation for 10 man dungeons... Just the word "raid" alone seems to put ppl into defence mode and "I won't even try this". First of all the game is an mmo > multiplayer. This means the game aims you to play with a group of people. Either by tagging up in big zergs (worldboss, wvw, guild missions) or in smaller groups (guild missions, fractal/dungeon/strike/raid and casually doing any open world content varying from meta's till champions till just gathering together). If you want no other ppl around you, you are better of in a single player game. As for strike missions in the meta achievement of a living world episode. Totally fine. Yes the newest strike boss may be more difficult but we have more strike bosses that count with achievements and those are easy (can be done with friends and guild members if you prefer over randoms). Some of these strike mission achievements even can be soloed (boneskinner torches). If you join a random group for strike missions this does not mean you even have to talk, have a specific build (ofcourse preferred but if you just do it once for the achievement you can kinda leech along on the easy bosses) and in general go from the point that players are friendly and not toxic. Yes there are players that are toxic but this definetly is not the mayority. You don't have to get the meta achievement and nobody died from doing a strike mission for achievement once. You might even start to like it... There is no scheduling needed for strikes, you just hop in, kill the boss, and hop out. There were more difficult meta achievements like Migraine from HoT. And I guess Balthazar from PoF was also one players struggled on.

  10. Secretly hoping that's for a strike mission currency. Strikes are nice but after you have the achievement theres not much reason to do it. Yes theres a rare drop, but if you do 20 strikes in a row and everyone gets that rare (even in tripple amount) but yourself, you just know you will never get it....

  11. It actually got fixed after the patch. I did the twin strike several times pré patchon patch day and it was broken. I did the twins just after patch and it was still broken. Then suddenly the achievement decided to register after like 10 mins after I had finished the strike (looked as if it was in massive delay) and went back to get all 20 done without issue and without delay.

  12. Hidden achievements also count for the meta btw so its less than 7 strikes needed. I only needed 4 strikes and current boss on the rotating strikes is a really easy one (I organised 20x for sanctifier and didn't ask for any experience or roles...). 1 whisper of jormag achieve is actually not the strike boss but the story boss (the one that names avoiding 2 specific attacks).

  13. Some tome storage icon next to the minimap would be nice, where you can access all your tomes, and by opening each of them the individual pages you bought. And also include the festival waypoint tome we are getting since halloween, the griffon plea, aurene fetch gimmick and the gem purchased items that bring you to those places with bank/tp/craft tools/sellers and similar which I may be forgetting atm. Account shared ofcourse. Would save space, easy visible and doesn't put your bought tomes into a loss. And this feature should also not be locked behind a gem paywall. The icon could be a shortcut link to a section in hero panel.

  14. The last strike mission is nice and raids/fractals/dungeons as well. Story is easy, the npcs literally can solo most of it (I went dinner in a hot story instance to find the story completed by the end of it). In open world you can just auto attack things down. Even when it comes to worldbosses this game possibly had the easiest ones of all games I have played and those were casual too. Tripple trouble is a nice worldboss tho, you can actually go down there and fail it if you don't do mechanics.

  15. Have been checking for days at same time so that can't really be it I guess else I should have seen it earlier so there must have been prequisites and the only thing i did in between was what i wrote down. I saw the kodan under the ship with writings on the wall. The writings didn't disappear when the kodan left for me.

  16. Ok I think I may have found some prequisites on seeing the Strange Kodan, so far I know the following:

    - It has to be night (after drakkar meta)

    - I think a prequisite is having completed the 3x mystery of drakkar lair, hidden tower, labyrinth and raven gate ruins

    - A prequisite may be having completed story

    - Koda be praised may be a prequisite

I have been trying to get the achievement for days and it only appeared now when I finished the mysteries I named and I did a nearby fishing event and corrupted shard event.

I had mentored up and yelled in map chat that strange kodan was at me but nobody else could see it (they could buff the kodan but didnt see it nor couldnt interfere with it) which means only 1 can see it at a time.

I had hoped I could have helped all those ppl that came :anguished:

You would have to be extremely carefull saying this as its a very important thing in Greece to not say this wrong. North Macedonia (former Fyrom) uses the Cyrillic alphabet. Macedonia is a region in Greece which has nothing to do with North Macedonia and Greece does not use a Cyrillic alphabet either. You don't want to offend anyone by calling the countries and its citizens wrong.

For the rest you could ask friends/guild and optionally you could organise the event in particular via forums and lfg ahead of time. Several achievements need the deadhouse event.

    >

    > Is there a daily for Deadhouse or Elon Riverlands?

Theres not a daily specific for the deadhouse but there is a daily for doing bounties (and even for doing a heart) in Elon Riverlands. When such dailies are up there is a lot more traffic in the map and its easier to ask ppl to help with deadhouse then.

  19. I agree with Voidek and Ytsejam. Despite not using the maploadinfo thing and having cleared the cache and dns flushed I find the maps of the Icebrood Saga load much longer than any other (even longer than LA). Its like up to 5 mins loading screen every time. The tp often also loads slow last month incl still getting the message of login server blabla when just doing things in open world while the net is fine... (Not as much as it has been last month but it didn't completely vanish either). So I guess theres still something up with eu servers...
