The most complex version of a mute button I've ever heard of.

This is how I will forever explain to people how the volume button on your TV remote actually works. You're not turning down the volume...you're actually just turning up the opposite phase.

If you don't have HoT and PoF, I would buy those so you have access to the best content. If you don't have the seasonal content you'll have to buy that too, but it's worth it to keep the story progression and the area meta events.

Did not suggest skipping content for mounts. I advised that they are important for current gameplay and should not be ignored. Although I disagree that mounts remove enjoyment of content.

On topic, biggest advice I have for Masteries (if you haven't done that yet) is to not waste points on season 3 skills, many of them only work in a particular area and some are not needed at all (I'm looking at you music mastery line)

As far as Mordremoth fight in the story is to make sure everyone has break bar skills and knows how to use them. Without breaking his bar you can get stuck in an endless loop with an unkillable boss. This is something I did with a Valkyrie Reaper build...he couldn't kill me and I couldn't break the bar so we were stuck in a stalemate. Mordremoth...I've come to bargain...

  3. So I co-op play with my wife and we mainly do the story bits. I've never felt Ascended gear to be all that needed for anything other than raiding, which I don't do.

I'd also suggest that you either free up a character slot to play from scratch and play through the story. If you don't have HoT and PoF, I would buy those so you have access to the best content. Mounts are a thing, you should get them and then work for the other bonus griffon and skyscale. Both good mounts, and not too bad of a grind if you are working together.

    Welcome back.

  4. GW2 PR has always been weak. They have little desire to keep people updated and I don't see any evidence that it will change any time soon. The MMO market is not really the only MP game market anymore so games like NW are really just a relic of the past that haven't even been released yet. Co-op gaming is huge and takes a massive bite out of any MMO audience. EoD sales will mainly be to current GW2 players/game owners...you might gain a few but not enough to generate any buzz. PoF and HoT did virtually nothing for the main game base. The free GW2 base game did more for numbers than either expansion.

  5. The whole point of a racial skill is that it is for a particular RACE. They already nerfed the skills to complete uselessness because they were afraid people would complain that one races skill is stronger than another...now you want to make the race choice even more meaningless?

I'm all for racial skills...but I'd want them buffed so that it actually matters what you pick.

Squirrels would be fun, but mechanically they would have to be huge to not get lost in all the visual mess. If they flew off your shoulder and returned there after their attack run, I would pay extra.

Why would they lose the monetary gain of selling point for the expansion. Adding nunchucks to the game is a pretty good bullet point for an expansion sales pitch.

    > So you think they would misquote after showing someone threw a spear? Okay...

Yes, I do. I also think the fan base will continually be mistaken about things they think they see.

  8. Pretty sure they misspoke...new weapons meaning skins. Balancing of 30 skills per class is not something they drop in a smaller patch. Expansion 3...maybe. In the trailer it says "Weapons & Skins" which most likely means weapon skins and other skins (backpacks, mounts, armor, etc.) The proceeded to show the very skins they are talking about in the next few seconds...none of which were on a new weapon.

  9. Again...I bought a commander tag for this very reason. I log in, tag up if there isn't a commander in that area and in under 5 min I have a full train. You don't have to buy a tag, BTW. There is the free tag that you can use (the apple training one) that people will follow if you use it and post to LFG. I did that for a long time before I just bit the bullet and bought my own tag.

Also on my alts I have the 80 boost defensive gear exotics and having no issue but get less loot because they don;t have auto loot so if the mob doesn't die fast then my loot sits on the ground even as I spam f all the time thru but I just do daily kill 40 mobs type thing so not like I'm farming for a couple hours. So if you don't have auto loot then that could of been the issue too

yup...always squad up when doing the Lab. Run builds that can tag. Bags galore...

There are far more important things in this world to be sad about. GW2's price tag is not one of them.

    >

    > Actually, no. ANet has as much control over their pricing as they want to have. Many games do have regional pricing, so ANet certainly could - if they chose to do so. As I said earlier, I am an American living in the Philippines. There have been multiple times I was going to buy some downloadable content, and when I entered my US credit car number... the price tripled. Many games have regional pricing. It is not hard to do, if they want to do it.

    >

    > If ANent did do regional pricing I would likely still pay US prices because all my banking and credit cards are still done from the US. I have no dog in this race, but do feel for the locals here who cannot afford the game at US prices. I feel that if ANet offered regional pricing it would open up whole new markets for them. They apparently disagree.

    >

    > Such is life,

Actually no to your no. The pricing is tripled by trade deals and tariffs. Trade deals and tariffs that Anet does not control. Even if they did do regional pricing, it would be at a disadvantage to their bottom line, which is also not controlled by ANet...it's controlled by NCSoft.

It's the cost of doing business in a world economy.
