  1. Left Shift = Mount key (I use Skyscale here)

    F1 = Griffon

    F2 = Raptor

    F3 = Springer

    F4 = Jackal

    F5 = Skimmer

    F6 = Beetle

    Sidenote: 1,2,3,4,Q,E,R,C,X,Z + alt combos of these keys I use for combat skills cause I want them to be close to the movement keys (AWSD).

  2. Howdy!

    I like beer on saturdays, and any day tbh (also whisky and cognac). I'm also kinda old, or at least slowly getting there.

    In a few guilds currently but their schedules are off for me, yours seems better suited. Mainly interested to learn fractals, raids and wvw, especially for to heal proper. I have odd fixation for them green numbers and played only healer classes for many years in Wow.

    Looks like Ferguson's Crossing is currently listed as full, so gotta keep an eye out for the transfer.

    I like this idea a lot! Something like 5 min extra duration on the ground for "tagged" asc feast. Would make scribing more useful too. =)

  4. The finish line will not register me finishing the race, it will instead keep spawning the waypoints, so I cannot finish it. This happened every time I got to the finish line. So no, this race is not doable for everyone. Until they fix this bug there is no point for me (or anyone else with this issue) trying to do it.

    > All these "work-arounds" should not be necessary. I've tried some of the suggestions but none have worked for me. I'll just wait until the fix comes in, which I'm sure will be soon.

    Yep. They are indeed great help for some but I cannot get the finish line to register me finishing the race, so very pointless to even try any of these work arounds. Infinite race looping is not my idea of fun, so better just wait for a fix.

    And all I wanted was to drown my humminbird, err.. I mean teach her to dive ofc. Just have to wait, but plenty other stuff to do in the meantime.

  6. > @"Dark.1823" said:

    > - crossing the finish line doesn't end the race / endless laps until the checkpoints stop registering (every time for me. my friend doesn't have this bug)

    Well, that explains a lot. Pretty sure I had this one every time I tried. Was confused about why the checkpoints just kept appearing after the finish line. To me it seemed like it did not even register that I finished the lap. So very much pointless for me to even try to do it when it just keeps on going.

    Edit: dunno if not registering the finish line has something to do with the constant 'unable to access log in server' errors (code 42) I've been having after the update. Earlier it used to happen only sometimes when using the trading post, but now it slaps me with the error all the time no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

    > I can't go through the race with swimming normally. Instead of people telling me to get gud, could you maybe fix it so I could use the skimmer underwater?

    Nothing to do with 'get gud'. Anet clearly made the race easy to do with all kinds of ppl in mind, IF it worked the way it's supposed to.

    Personally I'll wait for a fix, cause I'm too old'n grumpy to spend too much time trying to do a race that should be a breeze.

    The trading post has been working better for me after I cleared the cache, had no more errors with it.

    > HoT is the best time I've had playing this game since early release. It was the first time I was presented with a challenge from regular mobs. The Mordrem felt "intelligent" when they ambushed you. Their snipers were deadly if you didn't pay attention and they had all sorts of tricks to make your life miserable. I really enjoyed the verticallity of the maps ( yes even Tangled mess... err.. depths ). Most of all I enjoyed ( and still enjoy ) running the various meta events on each maps, something that was sorely missing from Path of Fire but I digress. Overall HoT and it's lead up ( Silverwastes) made you feel like you were part of a serious war effort as you hacked your way through vines with the Pact for every step you gained.

    Had very similar experience.

    Was it frustrating? Yes, very much so but I did learn a lot about to my character and the combat mechanics because I had to adapt my playstyle to fight the harder mobs. I'd say for the 1st time since launch the combat felt truly challenging and the victories satisfying. Went thru the whole expansion with power GS warrior and was nicknamed Whirlwind by my pals, because of the constant rapid movement skills and dodging I had to perform to stay alive.

    In contrast PoF mobs were easier to handle, but some story parts were quite challenging. HoT was the opposite.

  10. Same here, my connection to game server has been very unstable. Also had four crashes in a row last night before I gave up. Can play for few to ten minutes, then either crash error (sent the report) or the client just freezes and have to shut it down manually. Been trying to work for solution but have to actually work too (busy day) but I'll report back if I find a solution. Funny thing is that I was able to play from my laptop by using 4G connection (away from home) before the 2nd 'server crash' patch fix.

    Again, the comments here/reddit represent only a tiny fraction of the whole playerbase.

    And why are you playing this game if that's your view of it? There are plenty of other mmo games.

    As for how things are run, well.. that is subjective, as most things are, and it is a corporate world we live in.

    Indeed. Just wanted to point out why I think some _reasonable_ people disagree with the decision.

    I'd like to point out that there are over 11 million accounts in GW2. Do you honestly think that few loud posters here represent the whole playerbase? Just a bit of wishful thinking, and while I tend to agree, there's always hope that maybe some day that bubble will burst.

    A certain individual took that proverbial horse ignoring all those who opposed and then rode it thru Kotaku to Polygon where that person still continues to parade around with it.

  16. I wish everyone who posted here all the best. Even if I don't agree with some of the opinions presented, it was still a pleasure reading them all.

    I wish all the best to Peter with his future endeavours and I truly hope that some day Jessica grows past this immature phase in her life. I know I've been a pain in the kitten to my friends and relatives in the past, until I matured enough to realize that the world does not revolve around me. Life is a learning journey.

    Much kudos and respect to Mike for the tough call he had to make, I still think it was the right one. Also best wishes to all the Anet employees, I hope the company can get past this mess without any more hassle.

    And Mike, you keep a strong spine.

I no longer feel welcome, as a woman, and as a person who disagrees with the ravening horde. I don't agree with Mike O'Brien's hasty actions in firing JP and PF, but I understand that he's human, that he might have panicked in the face of internet outrage. His statement here was a non-statement, and his statement to polygon wasn't much better. Whether or not his actions were a direct reaction to the outrage or not, he should have known that his actions would embolden the worst of the internet. It has divided the community, it has turned this community into a place where I no longer feel comfortable. The values portrayed in game - the inclusion of women, people of color, the lgbt community, and the disabled - seems to not be reflected behind the scenes. It is disheartening and depressing.

    > >

Anyone who disagrees with the mob is shouted down, accused of "siding with bullies" or of having political motives, or even of not being a part of the community. I've been playing since beta. I love this game. GW2 is my therapy for a stressful life and an anxiety disorder. But I don't feel welcome anymore.

    > >

    > > I suppose I should not be surprised by the attitudes expressed by so many players, but I always held GW2's community to higher standards. I should have known all this ugliness was lurking beneath the surface just waiting to be unleashed by an event such as this.

    >

    > I agree, seeing kitten 2.0 (right down to the "ethics in games journalism" BS) take root here has drastically altered my perception of the GW2 community.

    That decision is up to you and we should all respect that, but I find it strange how you both claim to know each individual who is part of this community and their worldview based on few posts on the forums and/or reddit. Most of the players don't even use these forums.

He defended a coworker..probably had one too many Fourth of july beers in him to recognize exactly what it was his coworker was actually saying..he just defended a coworker who he perceived as being picked on. I would not be outraged if they brought back Peter. He did not say anything bad to the streamer in question, just defended Jessica in a show of maybe drunken misplaced loyalty.

    I think many in the community will agree with this.

    And as you wrote after this, maybe JP was tipsy/drunk too, but she is still very publicly 'throwing mud' at MO and the company and there is no excuse for that. I think that shows well what kind of person she is and how much she really cares about her ex-coworkers and the GW2 community.

    Did the same and have to agree, it is very depressing to read.

    I feel sorry for all the Anet employees and O'Brien for having to deal with this kittenstorm.

    And your post was such a great read - much kudos for writing it!
