A Siren/Bard would just work well with the mesmer. The trident already sends out sound waves to hurt enemies and minstrels are a thing in the GW2 world as well :)

I think it will be based on the idea of the W/Mo from the first game, maybe in the spirit of Mhenlo. Something focused around healing, cleansing, and protecting while still retaining the core principles of Warrior.

Maybe we will get polearms/spears as new weapons. I think it would be possible, but yeah otherwise a staff would work similar.

  3. Mirage has enough drawbacks: Mirages can't properly gain distance when dodging backwards or sidewards with mirage cloak. Also, Mirage has to use their endurenace offensively to put out damage which weakens their defense when they actually need to dodge an attack.

    > Since we already have support spec my long forgotten idea of musical themed mes was Skald. Coming from Norns, skalds could be more offensive, focused on power melee/mid range with hammer and some kind of shouts. Their clones would become immobile a and shatter skills becomes AoE, shattering only those clones hit by them. Additionally, hammer could also contain one skill with extra shatter.

Chrono just gives out Alacrity and Quickness. The minstrel could focus on healing or other boons and power DPS.

  5. Dune Cloak is a leftover when PoF came out and Mesmer's phantasms counted as clones and were shatter-able. Dune Cloak was the option to go for when you had 3 pistol clones out (which would stay up all the time) and you didn't want to get another clone out so you would do additional condi damage yourself with dune cloak.

Ever since the phantasm/clone changes Dune Cloak is pretty much useless and infinite horizon is better in every condition build. Thus, Dune Cloak should be completely reworked, maybe into a power focus trait or enhanced mirrors.

  6. I hope they completely rework dune cloak some day. It’s really useless for a grandmaster and infinite horizon is better in every scenario.

Dune cloak was a choice when phantasms were permanent and you would shatter them instead of clones so you could put out 3 pistol illusions and spam dune cloak but ever since the phantasm rework that’s no longer possible.

I hope so! Function gyro is the most boring and dull elite specialization mechanic out there. It would get a complete rework. I would love to play scrapper if they change it to something more interesting.

  8. I'd like to see Eather Feast turned into a glamour with a different effect. Right now this heal skill is one of the most lackluster ones with no trait synergy.

I'd also like to see Time Warp's duration being cut in halt but with a half as long cooldown as well. Or maybe a 2 ammunition skill with 5 seconds duration and 90 sec cooldown to make it worth using in PvP and solo PvE content.

    > Minstrel mesmer with shouts is my second preference after a Trickster elite spec that focuses on "stealing" opponent's spells through interrupts--sort of a more controlling, domination focused spec in a nod to the GW1 mesmer. I envision it as using a dagger mainhand and replacing clones with "stolen magic" pips that they expend for new F# abilities and gain thru interrupting abilities or using skills that currently produce clones.

    >

    > As far as the minstrel goes, I would prefer the F# skills to be songs rather than instruments as you suggest. Also, I think the foundations for a "minstrel mesmer" have already been briefly touched on with the trident moveset, which is pretty cool thematically.

Your idea also sounds great! Songs would also work as f-abilities but personally I'd like to see instruments implemented as a sort of "kits" for the mesmer. They would be more versatile than songs I think.

It's more boring in my opinion. Each team only had about 10 kills the entire match.. That's insane... I prefer fast paced stuff instead of long and boring fights where everyone is tanky.

Isn't a bard and a minstrel basically the same?
