Instead of magic vs physical, look at it as power, condition, support, and tank. Power builds use power, precision, and ferocity, and rely on dealing direct damage as opposed to condition damage. Condition builds use condition damage, expertise, and precision, and rely on using damaging conditions: bleeding, poison, burning, confusion, and torment. Support builds use healing power and concentration and are all about healing and boons. Tanks are all about taking hits for others and use toughness and vitality. This applies to all classes in GW2, not just the physical classes or the spell casters. Also, lore wise, all classes use magic, just some more so than others.
  2. As a new player, you should NEVER use a level-80 boost until you levelled a character or two the old fashioned way. With that said, the best way to do this is by exploring. What I like to do is map complete my race's starting zone, then its city, then its level 15-25 zone. Then I explore LA and the cities, starting areas and level 15-25 zones of the other races. By this time, you'll either be level 80 or close to it.
  3. Look at all of you. Scared of chickens when the true threat are rabbits. Example one: the hungry rabbits in Wayfarer Foothills. Example two: https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Nulfastu_Earthbound. Example three: https://youtu.be/TnOdAT6H94s.

I have played since the day the game came out back in 2012, and I haven't crafted once since 2013. Do you need to do for certain aspects of the game? Yes, you do, but it's not required to play the game. @Andrej.4293, The wonderful thing about this game is that it doesn't force you to do anything. You only have to do crafting, story, exploring, pvp, wvw, dungeons, Fractals, raids, strikes, ect. if, and only if, you want to. My favourite part of the game is build crafting. Speaking of, you said that you're playing Soulbeast, but feel like you're not doing any damage. I just made a fun build the other day for Soulbeast that I really enjoy. I can share it with you want. I don't thinks it's a meta build, though. Which brings me to my final point: never do something in GW2 because you feel like you have to for other players. Do what you want to do. Don't like crafting? No one is forcing you to do it. Hate Fractals? Avoid it. Have a build that you enjoy but it's not "meta?" Screw the meta! Play the game the way you want to, not the way that others want you to.

Not core WvW. Not until alliances are finally a thing. > > That's incorrect. Core WvW servers are linked on a regular basis. I'm on Piken Square and we are linked with Blacktide. As allies of enemies? Because if you are saying as enemies, than you misunderstood me. If you are saying as allies, then my knowledge of WvW is outdated.

That's PvE and EotM. Not core WvW. Not until alliances are finally a thing.
  7. Every time I see someone talking about GW2 being dead, I like to point out that people started to GW2 dead back in August 2012. I also like to point out that GW2 came out that very same month.
