The module was suppose to make it easier to use the workaround and support different Desktop Environments/conditions. However, its not very stable atm, still in the "alpha" stage.

Also don't want this forum to get flooded with "taco" talk lol... I didn't want to start an entirely new thread because it kind of fit well here, but I also don't want it to take over the main point of this thread which is the portable package and optimizations.

I think it would be helpful to have a trhead for this and even a github so people can post issues and submit pull requests.

I've also gone through the steps above, eliminating them as possible problems but I absolutely cannot get TaCo to work. If it's missing libraries I have no idea what they are so I can't see if they're installed.

I've added "trap func_end SIGINT SIGTERM" to the script, before the execution is called, so I can exit gracefully.

I tried the new version. Still doesn't work, but at least openbox starts now, though since TaCo never shows up I can't exit gracefully. Here's the output: https://dpaste.org/qOCQ

I'll try to go through it myself and see what I can fix when I have the time, just wanted to give you more data. By the way, I think it might be worth poiting out that I have two monitors. Don't know if that affects things much.

    > If you want a temporary work around open run_taco.sh and edit `DIR="$( cd "$( dirname "${BASH_SOURCE[0]}" )" >/dev/null 2>&1 && pwd )"` to an absolute path of the gw2taco app something like `DIR="/home/user/gw2/gw2taco"`

I tried that, but I kept having the cd too many arguments message so I changed it to:

    >DIR="/opt/Guild Wars 2/gw2taco/"

    >GW="`pwd | grep -o 'drive_c/GW2'`"

    > if [ -z $GW ]; then

    > GW="gw2taco/app"

    > fi

    >cd "/opt/Guild Wars 2/gw2taco/"

That solved the too many arguments message (cuz now CD is escaped due to the space in my gw2 folder name), but not the 'error' after "Taco started with pid".

    Edit:

Reading over the code, it seems like the script is erroing when it enters the function to disable cinnamon. It never does disable Cinnamon, for some reason, though the command works when used from terminal.

Also, my settings.conf file only has "autostart=false" in it. Is this supposed to happen? Or is it supposed to have more things? I ask because I notice the script greps things from this file.

Tried it out. First I get:

    >

    >./run_taco.sh: line 9: cd: too many arguments

    >***MANUAL START, MAKE SURE GW2 IS RUNNING. WAITING 30s BEFORE STARTING TACO***

    >

    >

    >***TACO STARTED WITH PID 27396.***

    >error

Then the console opens a new input and this shows up: https://dpaste.org/YXqG

It doesn't show TaCo, but doesn't exit out either.

  5. Hello!

Some specializations, like Druid and Necro, have alternative states they can go into, with a different skillset to their weapons. What I would like is some way for us to see what the skills in these states do without going into said state, mostly because it doesn't last long and makes it difficult to read tooltips. It could be either in a small bar in the build panel, or on the skill list to the left.

I know I can go to wiki to read it, but it would be better to have this information available ingame.

  6. > What's your favorite level in Super Adventure Box? Is there anything in particular that sets it above the rest it for you?

The first world zone. It's colorful, it has some secrets, but it's not too frustrating.

    > Last year, Super Adventure Festival was the first festival to introduce a Weekly Vendor. What new items would you like to see on the Weekly Vendor?

Some cheap BLC items, like the revive orb, bank and tp access, repair cannister.

    > What sort of new Super Adventure Festival content would you like to see in the future? It's fine to respond "I want a new World, only spend time on that!" but are there other kinds of gameplay or minigames you'd enjoy in the meantime?

Honestly all I want is to be able to store baubles in the material storage.

    > With Wintersday here and orphan routes to follow, any news on getting TaCo to work on Linux, @"ArmoredVehicle.2849"?

Hello again @"ArmoredVehicle.2849" hope you had a good holiday season! I was wondering if now you might have the time to look into TaCo? I have tried stuff myself, but I honestly can't get it to show up over the game and I'm very much out of my depth with it. Sorry to keep bothering you but it's the ONLY thing that makes me miss Windows.

  8. I agree. As someone who snatched up the branded bundle asap I wish I had some way of getting the other branded mounts, even if it meant paying some more.

I wish they'd sell mounts like gliders, but with fancier mounts being more expensive. Maybe have the bundles anyway, but also allow people to buy the skins individually.

And while we're at it, please let me buy $5 worth of gems! ?

    > Install the package called 'winbind' for your distro and see how it plays then. Also which distro and GPU are you using?

I do have winbind installed so I'm not sure why it can't find, other than maybe the package for my distro is out of date. I'm on Linux Mint 19.2 and have a NVIDIA GTX 1660.

Edit: Less important, and I figure at some point it will be solved, but this has also been happening occasionally: https://paste.pics/6LTLW

    > The messages you're getting "too many files open" means you need to apply the fix I mentioned in the troubleshooting section on page 1 and is also the reason why the game is crashing. This fix is not exclusive to GW2, it affects a few other games too.

    >

Sorry, I skipped that part completely!

After applying the fixes, the game loads and plays well, there's no mouse issues and my skyscale issue has been fixed! Thank you very much for your help!

It's the last screenshot in the Imgur album. It still appears pitch black!

I will try the other suggestions though and let you know how it goes! Thank you for your help.

Edit: Tried the latest package, game keeps crashing, here is the debug.sh output: http://dpaste.com/0PVHFEB

Edit2: The crash only seems to happen when loading into Mistlock Sanctuary. Other maps stutter like hell with the patch even on the lowest settings. I'll try the beta driver now.

Edit3: Tried different drivers, no joy. Game crashes. :(

    Thank you for responding!

This Imgur thread has all the info you asked for: [https://imgur.com/a/uJ53xx7](https://imgur.com/a/uJ53xx7 "https://imgur.com/a/uJ53xx7")

Edit: I just tried ultra settings again and it seems to have stopped working. The mount still shows the pitch black parts.

Edit2: Thanks to another poster I remembered that when I tried that out I was also trying out the d9vk version. I rolled it back because it caused an issue with right-click to move camera where the mouse was still visible and didn't give me any performance improvements.

Maybe if the rotation was faster it would have the effect of actually making more money but I'm willing to bet that currently they're missing out from not having items rotating in more often.
