Takes 1 Week to download game?

Recommended Posts

Been there done that, last thing I want is to submit a ticket.

I reinstalled the game because my old hard drive is giving up, tried copy pasta but so many errors. So I re-download it, but never experienced it to take a week.

trial and error, slept on it. played other games. (Hell, coded AHK to open close the game)

So trying for a summon of the great behind this game for some help.

getting this error, but not the dev. to understand where stuff is going wrong.

Normally you'd use the -assetsrv option, but it's still broken/disabled, so...

Search the start menu for notepad, right click it and run is as an administrator. Open the following file:

> c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

At the very end of the file, add the following line, and save it (don't close it):

> 127.0.0.1 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

Launch GW2. It should now fail to connect. Close it, then change the above line to the following, then save and launch GW2 again:

> 35.170.210.77 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

Remove this after you're done.

-

Note that the IP is temporary and is for the primary server in the US. To look it up yourself, open a command prompt (cmd.exe) and enter:

> nslookup origincdn.101.arenanetworks.com 8.8.8.8

For a server closer to your location (keep in mind that some/all could have the same problem):

> nslookup assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com 8.8.8.8
