Expansion level content in living world we were told... this is not expansion level content. Not even an epilogue map. Epilogue... Get on an airship. go to Cantha. Yawn... back to Final Fantasy 14. The layoffs happened. S5+ was originally planned to be much bigger, with them originally talking about it playing out over a couple of years and having no plans for another expansion. Datamining even suggested new hero challenges for example, meaning new elites. Months after the layoffs and shortly after the prologue released, the guy in charge, who was also the one pushing S5, quit, and then a few months later they announce an expansion. This final episode is what it is because the live team is operating on minimal resources while everyone else is attempting to rush out an expansion in practically half their usual time.
  2. Depends on why a password is required. If you're only allowed to run specific programs, an external drive isn't going to help. If it only affects programs that require administrator privileges, then you can simply rename Gw2Setup-64.exe to Gw2-64.exe, which causes it to run from its current folder.
  3. Local.dat contains file manifests (updated with patches), caches (some specific to the hardware) and "local" / hardware-related settings (login, sound and some graphics). GW2 normally requires exclusive write-access to its files. To launch multiple clients simultaneously, you need to use the -sharearchive option, which puts the game in read-only mode, including Local.dat. To patch, each client would need to be launched normally to update its own copy of Local.dat. Local.dat could alternatively be shared between computers, but it probably shouldn't.

Local.dat only stores your "local" / hardware-related settings - graphics, sound and login; everything else is stored by the server. It also contains several caches, which can cause it to bloat over time - it should be around 20 to 50 MB. The cache related to the BLTC however is gw2cache found under the %temp% folder, but deleting Local.dat will also reset this one. If it's still a problem, try a VPN - the store changes based on your location.

The only reason they push the other two options is because they have to assume people use the same password everywhere and thus have compromised emails, in which case the other options serve as a delay.
  6. It's intended to annoy you, so there's never going to be a simple option to disable it. That said, it is possible to prevent it by simply deleting coui_web_0.localstorage under the gw2cache folder prior to launching (or use Gw2Launcher).

They began working on "GW3" (it was listed as a 3rd person fantasy action online RPG using Unreal Engine, which insiders claimed could have become GW3) after PoF, but NCSoft forced them to stop, resulting in the layoffs in 2019. They're currently fully focused on EoD, so we'll have to wait and see which path they take after it launches.
  8. > @"raaahbin.7405" said: > They didn't actively kill the 32-bit Mac client - you just can't download it any more and it is 100% unsupported - so why nuke the ability of the 64-bit client to even log on, instead just have it say "this is no longer supported, and may stop working at any time"? The 32-bit client is the Windows client running in an emulator whereas the 64-bit client is native and something they have to maintain.
  9. > @"Grand Marshal.4098" said: > All this and unfortunately, I'm under the impression that the Expac will be rather limited. 4 maps, smaller than PoF maps and that's it. They have more people on this expansion than any previous one and by the end of the year it will have been how long it took to develop S3+PoF.

  11. > @"Cynz.9437" said: > Why do i have issues loading gw2 wiki then? The wiki is hosted on the NA servers. For comparison, guildwars2.com is hosted on both NA and EU, and these forums are through a 3rd party on completely different servers.
  12. The original Mac client was a Cider wrapper. The newer Mac client is native and was created by pulling old parts from GW1, making it obsolete from the start and only a matter of time.
  13. > @"Cynz.9437" said: > Also, on my alt account that has no xpac i don't get 42:0:9001:4457:101 error messages. On this account that has both xpac i literary can't play the first few minutes because i get spammed by the error message. I tried VPN, it didn't help. When you create an account, it's assigned to a region based on the key used (or IP for free accounts). This region is unrelated to the server you've chosen to play on, can't be changed and determines which region you login through. You can check your account's region under account.arena.net on the overview under personal information. If you're EU and the account having problems is NA while the other is EU, your problem is simply that you have an unstable connection to NA.

But it does bother me a little bit, would moving to a Europe server help? If you want an idea of what your ping would be like, ping these to compare NA and EU: ec2.us-east-1.amazonaws.com ec2.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com > @"Lucio.4190" said: > Also found an old thread using assetcdn instead of origincdn For future reference, assetcdn is your closest patch server mirror and is what the game uses, while origincdn is the primary US patch server. The problem is, the assetcdn servers don't verify their own files, so if they're interrupted while initially caching them, they'll end up hosting partially downloaded files. When the game downloads these files, the checksum will always fail, so it gets stuck infinitely retrying.

Stats are generally fixed in activities, but sometimes they have abilities like these weapons that are using the standard formula, so anyone not stacking power is at a disadvantage.
