Ok, how to advance your story line

How can you advance the story line when all the waypoints to the story entery point. And there are so many risen between and more spawn after you enter cobat that then ends in death. I mean with attemps of 8 to 10 times , and you got the best weapons and armor you can buy from the blacklion traders?

Orr is designed to be more difficult than the earlier zones, it was the original 'end game' area. The simplest way to deal with it is to take your time to make sure you don't get overwhelmed. Don't try to run past enemies, kill them as you come to them so you're not dealing with too many at once. It will take longer to move forward, but it's better to get to your destination slowly than not at all.

 

Also make sure the weapons and armour you've chosen have the same stat combination and it's one that makes sense for your build (the skills and traits you're using). GW2 isn't the kind of game you can beat by simply stacking up big numbers, it's far more important that you have the right stats for you than simply the highest stats you can find. For example if you're playing a ranger using a shortbow then most of your damage actually comes from conditions, so a stat combination with condition damage will actually be more effective than one with power, but if you're using a longbow the opposite is true. If you're able to dodge or kite consistently to avoid damage then you can focus on pure damage stats, but if not you might need vitality or toughness to help you stay alive.

 

If you can tell us which profession you're playing and which weapons you're using we can give you some more specific advice about how to improve you're build so you're not getting overwhelmed as much.

Try to **get close to the recommended gear** with similar stats. Exotic gear off the trading post is absolutely fine, in many cases even rare gear will do.

Perhaps it is not "the best" after all? What's your profession and build? And more importantly, what's your level?
