Etria.3642
They can absolutely be done as a group. If it is your instance, and they are on the same step, they can choose to accept or decline progression. If someone elses and you are on the same step, then you can.

If they are already in a group and want to join you as a group/party already formed, then those people need to disband group/party and re-join you as a group. Some player might have "offline" set in their LFG panel which they have to set to "online" to be able to join you or you to add them. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Party Status (offline/online/away): https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Contacts_and_LFG_panel Set up keybind to "Call Target" (and "Take Target" which refocus target to that what have been called out from Call Target) in Option>Control so party member can call out NPCs or objects you need to interact with. See Party tools section in that link for Party. Just be careful to not go too close to instance boarder as you will then be kicked out of that story instance. Some story instance have a very narrow space during fights and it is easy to get outside of that line if somebody use weapon skills that also teleport player around (like Mirage Axe).
