Wrolf.9427
Hi, played GW1 for years religiously like everybody else here probably. Bought GW2 and wasn't all that into it when it came out and was confusing. Recently came back and my hall of monument statues are all gone and my account was played by somebody else. 1. How do I get my hall of monument stuff to show up again? 2. Did accounts on GW2 get hacked? Cause my buddy who decided to also join me again said his account was also hacked. If so, when was this? Thanks.
Mutisija.5017
i would recommend making a support ticket to get this sorted out
Inculpatus cedo.9234
You (and your friend) will need to contact the CS Team via the 'Support' link above/below. Make sure to give as much information about your account as possible. Guild Wars is in maintenance mode, and lost the ability to restore accounts. Guild Wars 2 does have the ability to restore accounts. Good luck.
Wrolf.9427
I was able to get into both my guild wars 1 and guild wars 2 accounts and resetted my password and set up SMS for them for extra security. I just created a new character on GW2 cause I never really played it anyways. Should I still contact support? Or should I just play from scratch since I got my accounts back. Mutisija.5017
you can still get your lost stuff back, so you absolutely should. unless you actually prefer starting from scratch.
Wrolf.9427
Thank you for the comments and help. I don't even remember what I had, I'll just start from scratch, not a big deal. :)
Grizzly UK.1209
If your account was hacked then you really should contact support to let them know. As you say you don't remember what you had, but you also don't know what was done on your account while it was hacked. Do you really want to risk taking the blame for something the hacker(s) did on your account?
Wrolf.9427
That's true. Good point Grizzly. Thanks.
Wrolf.9427
So after playing for a few weeks, I gotta say I enjoy the game a lot more. Also sent in a support ticket but after a week they responded back by saying that they didn't find any intrusion on the account. They really need to step up their security cause that's really worrying. There was also several bugs I encountered while playing, not one but several bugs in the core game that I feel like they should've had enough time after 8 years to fix. Overall, I'm having fun but this game is seriously disappointing compared to GW1 and riddled with issues.
Inculpatus cedo.9234
It's a bit confusing; there are no 'statues' to lose in Guild Wars 2, were you actually referring to Guild Wars (One)? If it's been nearly 8 years since you played Guild Wars 2, are you sure someone else played on your account?
Wrolf.9427
I was referring to the Hall of Monuments. I'm 100% sure somebody played my account for a bit, there were IPs from other areas that I don't go to logged on my account.
Shokadezz.6041
When I quit playing , over the last several years, I would get constant notifications in my email about login attempts on my account haha. Someone was playing my account too. Leveled up some crafting for me lmao. I had IP Addresses in my account history from all over the world. Inculpatus cedo.9234
There are no 'statues' in Guild Wars 2 Hall of Monuments. If you've ever used the forums in all those years, they can show a different IP address (nowhere near where you live) than the one you use to connect to the game. Wrolf.9427
Don't you connect your GW1 account for GW2 hall of monuments and display these little statues on them? https://wiki.guildwars.com/images/thumb/b/b5/Hall_of_Monuments.jpg/800px-Hall_of_Monuments.jpg At least that's how I remembered it being when I played 7-8 years ago. Inculpatus cedo.9234
You do not, nor ever have. Here's a picture of the original (GW2) Hall of Monuments: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/claiming-your-hall-of-monuments-rewards/

Note that the HoM in GW1 is per character, but can be toggled to show the entire account. You can't remove statues.
Wrolf.9427
Ah okay, I remembered the Hall of Monument incorrectly. Thanks for the clarification.
