What is the cooldown on joining too many groups recently

Recommended Posts

What is the cooldown on this timer?

OCX time: find map with no progression, no players evident.

Go into LFG and find a squad, small, but maybe more players on the map. Start doing south meta. Do an escort with one other player, having called escort out in map chat.

Leave squad. Find another LFG doing north meta, only to find they're pretty much finished when you get into the map.

Leave squad. Find another LFG up, not many in squad, but says new map. Maybe hit join a couple of times in quick succession due to frustration.

Find a message "You have joined too many groups recently" and have an inability to join another squad.

This system may work well in NA prime, but trying to find an active Drizzlewood map in OCX time is difficult. It's not much fun to join a squad, and then come into the map and find people not doing much. Players seem to be spread across maps instead of being more concentrated in one or two maps.

Update: apparently it can trigger when the join process fails and you click the button again to join the group. I left the squad, tried to join the other one. The join failed. I thought it was the problem where the game seems to think you're still in the original group. So I created a squad of just me, then left it to try to fix the problem. I then tried to join the second group again, and that's when the problem occurred.

There isn't a wiki page. I'll get something up once I have the screenshot to demonstrate what is going on, so other people have that information.

We're having a discussion about it, off the forum.

Thanks for replying. Same, and it was always associated with having a join problem initially. Are you outside of NA like me? I'm wondering if it a lag problem.

I'll create a wiki page when it happens again, and at least that means a discussion page will automatically be created. Perhaps we'll get a better idea of what is going on then. If you're not a wiki editor, I encourage you to be so....
