From the new E-Specs there are actually only 2 i dont really like and that is renegade and deadeye. Renegade is a missed opportunity to incorporate other legends (hopes up for next expac) and deadeye is just not my cup of tea with the sniping. My fav would be Soulbeast. Not because its the strongest one but because they put a lot of stuff into the E-Spec that was desired for years now in the ranger community. As a veteran since 2012 and ranger main since 2014 i love this e-spec and the new diversity that it has brought to the game. They have to do a lot for the next E-Spec that i would switch from Sb to the new one.

I actually had a blast with mirage and was surprised that mesmer mains dont like it. Very mobile, high shatter count, good utility, good survivability. Just needs some time to get used to the new dodge. And infinite horizon is just a no brainer atm and should be incorporated into the class mechanic.

I think Insane with the recent update and what is to come in the launch patch notes, the Renegade may get some love so check it out soon we might just be surprised. The Deadeye i felt the same about early on in the piece but trust me try making a build for the Deadeye and tell me it isn't fun to design a spec for it.

My advice is to you Insane is to give them both another chance they may just surprise you and be a lot of fun!

That is really interesting, perhaps you might become a Mirage main, Insane. I Cave Rock, wish you luck in your elite specialization choice today!

Thanks heaps Hornswroggle, for participating and i think you might just be right about the Holosmith, it is great and appears very popular with/amongst the community. Many of the streams and pro players like Jebro, Nike DnT and Chaithhh really like this new elite specialization as well.

Cheers from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42, your vote is much appreciated Hornswroggle, just like everyone else!

This is also just to help out those folks that are undecided or not sure that their main professions new trait line is the elite specialization for them, well how about checking out my video. It is an overview of the new expansion and a brief discussion about each of the nine new elites specializations. All, I feel blessed because so many have viewed it already and i hope it helps out some one be it an old or a new player who just joined Guild Wars 2. As a past beta player and a veteran of the game it is well untruly the right time that i passed on my some of my knowledge to the community, i hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for watching and cheers everyone for the support and kind words.

Since this thread was started before release, the results may not match current player opinion. This is especially apparent with Scourge.

Hey Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42, here once again, i would like to say that the voting for the first Poll - 'Which is your favorite Path of Fire elite specialization',, still continues on strongly and voting has not stopped. The communities reaction to this specific poll has been absolutely amazing. I will continue to support the discussion and comments section as long as possible. Please continue to be as positive and supportive as possible. Your input is much appreciated and helpful for the game, community and development process. Our reactions and feedback let the Arenanet developers know what works/we really like and what might need some work or fine tuning.

As always cheers and thanks you very much for voting, From Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42. Have a great day all.

The votes keep rolling in everybody! It would be great to here some comments about how you new elite fairs in each game mode be it PvE, WvW, SPvP, Raids and Fractals. Or in any other area of the game that you enjoy like Heart of Thorns, core Tyria maps or dungeons.

A question that I have is, do mounts work in core jumping puzzles or are they disabled.

Any way enough ramblings from myself, keep voting and commenting I really appreciate it and enjoy hearing what you all have to say about what I believe to one of if not the best highlights of the Path of Fire, the nine new elite specializations.

Cheers again from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42.

I only play PvE, so my comments only apply to this game mode. Before the demo, I played 4 classes - elementalist, guardian, warrior and thief. After playing the beta demo, of the classes I would have voted for holosmith first, with weaver and firebrand a distant second and third. I thought holosmith had a pretty cohesive and unique spec and was very excited to try it. I liked it so much that I spent the time between the demo and the patch leveling up a new engineer to play it. I thought weaver had potential, but needed some buffing to the attunement cool downs and barrier for it to really be good and worth the added complexity. I frankly was worried about firebrand, because the tomes felt very clunky and didn't mesh well. Also, the mantras were way too small. I strongly suspected that spellbreaker would be underpowered and outclassed by the condi beserker, but was hoping it would perform better when it when live. I totally did not like the deadeye concept and had no interest in playing it.

After playing the release specs, I voted firebrand first, with holosmith a close second. I found that the changes that Irenio and team made to firebrand that incorporated some of the player feedback during the demo really made using the firebrand tomes feel much better and less clunky, to the point that it became my favor spec. Great job! I liked the holosmith just as much as I did pre launch and think it is a very strong, fun build. The weaver felt just a clunky as it did during the demo and no really player suggestions were taken into account that I could tell. Frankly the tempest feels better to play right now. Unfortunately, the spellbreaker was just as underpowered at release as it was during the demo. Again, there was a lot of player feedback to help address this that I didn't see reflected in the live spec. I unlocked the deadeye, but didn't play it at all since I don't like the whole sniper play style.

So for me, the clear winners of PoF are firebrand and holosmith.

Sup Stone Cold, your right Irenio's last update post on the Firebrand really propped up the Firebrand in a moderate to good position in the Meta. There is still some fine tuning to do with the range and radius of mantras. But your right about the Tomes the are and sound much improved that people like yourself and me gave it a second chance.

I personally feel the Weaver in due course or time will be really popular once more people access to the grieving stat set, word will spread and it too will get a big second chance. I said it earlier today, those that persist with this brand new elite specialisations will be well rewarded in the end.

Cheers for your honest and insightful comments Stone Cold. I also sense a slight plea in there for some love to be given to the Spellbreaker. I also agree Holosmith is in a good spot with the post release of Path of Fire meta.

Your post was incredibly helpful, from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42.

Kinda sad but I honestly haven't played with any spec beside some PvP games withs

Spellbreaker, which idk seemed a lot more fun in the demo weekend than now.

Both my mains elite spec (Guard and Warrior) dont appeal me or arent good for PvE..am thinking of going to do a new character because of it, Soulbeast and Holosmith sound fun, still not sure

Thanks Maggotpez, it is great to hear that people are now starting to work out that the Mirage is really fun to play and not as others said 'broken'. Especially with a high power build, plenty of damage avoidance and mobility. We all need to show the new Mesmer elite specialisations some support like this comment.

Yeah Neage, I have seen some streamers like Flex having an absolute blast playing the Spellbreaker, that counter attack and boon removal is an incredible combination. Plus the damage and survival potential in amazing on the Warrior was already amazing, put that together with Spellbreaker and you have a force to be reckoned with at the moment.

Hey mPascoal, could I help you in your decision making process. I think a Soulbeast might just be your cup of tea... Because it is very versatile and some what challenging to play. It does have some gated skills which are hard to access at times of need, but once you figure out those issues you might be rewarded with and incredibly interning elite specializations and profession. High stats, hybrid damage and access to many different types of conditions. Plus a pet to do damage and control effects. It might be worth checking out.

Good luck mPascoal and btw thanks for your helpful post as others might feel just like yourself, undecided or worried none of the new elites are for them.

Cheers for the post from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42.

Yo Wyvernshade, that is awesome to hear as I have a Revenant and thought the Renegade ain't for me. Yeah playing the Renegade would feel like being a commander of a Charr legion. For me and you that sounds cool but would others that dislike or prefer other races be deterred by that notion.

Cheers Wyvernshade and what do others think about the notion that some folks could be deterred by the legend itself or is it a lack skill/damage issue?

Thanks mate from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42.

I see more votes coming in regularly, but I want to hear more feedback if people don't mind sharing what they think. Especially now that you all have had more time with the nine new elite specializations.

What works and what doesn't or how can an elite be improved, would be great to hear.

Cheers from Cave Rock and Bluevoltron42.
