Character Creation need some Love

In my experience I only see 1 good Sylvari face and then one other one that is mostly decent for what I aim for, but yeah... too few Sylvari faces in general to the point I shouldn't see so many npcs and players almost using one specific face all the time.

 

Also my issue with Charr is mainly this:

Can I PLEASE have this one with hair on both sides? I don't get why so many female hair have to be shoved all on one side and leave the other side barren. I also don't get why it's ALWAYS to the right. Never on the left. Here's just a super fast edit on what I would've really wanted as an option for it:


 

And I won't even bother going through the rest as some of them are just.... no.

And then for faces:


How hard would it be to get this face without those side fur things on the cheeks? I would really like this one with the side fur stuff.

We should be able to modify our characters at any time for free. It is absolute bollocks that we are locked into one character when it is impossible to know whether you like the way your character looks until you've spent ten plus hours playing her.

 

Every mmo ever made has had this massive failure of locking you out of character modification the moment you hit start even though you actually need to play with the character and see her next to other characters in order to see if she is correctly proportioned for the game and your own opinion.

 

Locking character modification behind a paywall is 100% unacceptable as this should simply be a normal part of the base game due to how important it is in regards to my ability to enjoy the game.

Honestly, I would like to see a complete rework of the system. When comparing to such games as BDO, RO, and even AA, GW2 really falls behind in the customization options. Personally, I'd just like to see the creation system modernized and brought up to speed with the competition.

I don't mind having to pay for the special character hairdos and colors and faces and whatnot with a makeover kit. But it does annoy me that I can't select any of those in the character creation screen. Whenever I make a new character I have to wait to get the designs I actually want until I have already created the character, finished the first level, yada yada. I wish that if you have a purchased makeover kit you could get the option to see the options for them in the character creation screen. Or always show them, and have the option to purchase them right in character creation. The two step process feels clunky to me.

Yeah, it would be nice to have new Sylvari skin and glow colors, new Norn tattoos, Charr horns, etc.

 

Who knows if it will ever happen.

YEah i do feel Character creation needs some more love. i would also love for new character selection like the Hylek i would love to make a Hylek character.

Absolutely. If you've ever toyed with the BDO character creation you quickly realize that GW2 is far behind, kinda like that huffin' puffin' rhino that tries to keep up in Jumanji.
