[LORD] -BG- DD P/P PvP in Platinium Tier Season 9 Video 7

Recommended Posts

Hey guys sorry if I triggered you reaching plat playing a build which is not meta but fun for me. I am not a PRO player and never intended to be I just play for fun I click skills and it does not matter for me and it happened that I reached a rank doing just that : playing what I like and having fun instead of making it a tedious process with meta builds and boring tank builds... You can have fun and be successful... Not intended to piss tryhard people considering them as pro... I just like P/P + dodge DD combinaison for glass canon fun (kill fast or else die fast which for me is more fun and challenging than to stand in a circle for ages spamming condi or cleanse) I share my video even if they are not perfect PRO material results at the end of the fight : not making an ego or heroic record... just player having fun and sharing.

In pve I happened to complete the whole raid legendary armor raid just playing it for fun not farming with pro raiders organised guild players... and been also successful just having fun as I see a game shall be.

Don't hate. <3

Quaggan sometimes wonders why people have to be such, such... Quaggan is speechless.

OP is playing for fun it's obvious even for a little fishy Quaggan. OP got to plat while having his fun, so he decided to share his joy with you. And what we amazing PvP community do? We do the same as we do since always, go for his throat. Being nice doesn't hurt, it's easy to criticize and tell someone "how bad he is", it's harder to give him proper tips "how he can improve". It's somehow hillarious that we as PvP community complain about population problems and bad matchmaking, yet we're core source of it... but nooooooo, you will say it's all ANET fault.

How can people be what? Truthful? Because...well its true. he doesn't belong in platinum. Sure whatever he's having fun, but it's at the expense of others who have to work 100x harder to carry him. You wonder why there is so much salt in pvp and this is why.

Quaggan doesn't get you at all, complaining doesn't solve any issues, thus it's pointless. If you can't be constructive, swallow with your salt and stay silent. Quaggan finds it kinda funny, that your previous post was probably the only somewhat close to constructive criticism in entire thread.

So, lets say you work a 9 - 5 job, and you have this co-worker who is absolutely unqualified and terrible at his/her job. You do all of their work for them because the job has to get done. They end up taking credit for all of your hard work and they are the ones to get promoted and a raise, while you instead, are scolded, don't receive a raise, and continue to work with more similar unqualified and terrible people?

How can someone not be salty when this happens? How can you stay silent when that happens? Nothing happens when people are silent, or supportive of parasitic relationships in any realm, whether it's gaming, a marriage, or the workplace, or whatever.

This video in my opinion is evidence of a more complex issue with the matchmaking algorithm, because "In theory," this player is not supposed to be at this tier of game-play, because "well. eventually he will even out, and end up at his/her appropriate tier eventually."

I don't think this ever works in practice ever. It's almost completely analogous to the previous workplace example. The assumption is that the guy who was unqualified and terrible at his job, will also be terrible at his higher position, which is true. They will be terrible. Some of them fail and get fired, but what usually happens is that other's who also want to keep their jobs in those higher positions are forced to carry that unqualified person there as well, because they don't want to lose their jobs either. It's an endless cycle that continues with no foreseeable solution. This still doesn't fix the problem with the actual qualified, genuine people who have never been promoted in the first place.

Quaggan can't threat your post even a little serious, how can one draw analogy between video game people are playing for fun and job people have to do for living (?), what is more, nobody is expecting you to take person you don't want to play with into your team for AT or any other competitive form of play, because seriously, ladder never will be truly competitive for many reasons.

It's called a comparison for a reason. You weigh the similarities and differences between two separate situations. In this case, an "unqualified platinum player" vs. real life situations.

How is anyone supposed to improve if all they're told is that they are doing a good job and they couldn't possibly do anything better? They won't.

Like everyone else in the thread said, he needs to stop clicking all of his skills, keyboard turning, and random dodging. That could not possibly be more to the point, as it says exactly what he needs to improve upon.

I don't see the issue really. Who posts a video and expects nothing but praise? Furthermore, posting a video where (from what I've read as I've yet had the chance to watch it) the player in the video is being carried hard by his team into platinum, onto a forum where the players constantly voice their discontent with the horrible matchmaking system. It would be silly to assume you wouldn't get negative feedback, especially when players in these forums can vividly remember having to carry dead weight in their own matches.

It's the forums, everyone can voice their opinion.

the video straight up says blackgate, so thats how i knew it was NA. most of my friends are actually on that sever, & i used to be on it too before i moved from the pacific to europe.

as far as pvp skill goes, in gw2 EU has always had a bigger & more competitive scene. NA is just the abjured’s farming ground. this is well known, & even admitted by people like Jebro.

but, if you’re wanting to toss around insults i’d like to point out two things. firstly europe is made up of a large amount of countries, & their unemployment rates vary. also south america, australia, canada etc all play on NA servers too- so its not just NAs unemployment rate that is relevant. secondly, your country elected a bright orange moron as president, so i really wouldn’t start a battle of country based insults- because dude you will lose.

Sorry, gotta call BS on this. Yeah, you might have been having fun, nothing wrong with that, but that's not what communicated. The title of your post and subsequent communication says otherwise. You know you were rubbing this in the face of the PvP community with your post and attitude. You're gonna get flack for that. Also, you say you weren't being carried, when you totally were, so you're gonna get flack for that, too. The fact that you're in denial about being carried is gonna get flack. Whether you should be in platinum 1 is up for argument, but I'm sure that if you don't have a team carrying you, you won't be there long.

Dude, i'm Canadian (the rare breed that doesn't care for being "nice" all the time). My point is that people with more free time tend to be better than people with less free time at stuff that is considered by 99% of the people doing it a leisure activity (ie they aren't trying to make a living out of it). its basic logic, unemployment is just a statistical metric for it. Its not an insult unless you absolutely want to take it that way, hell i wouldn't mind having some of EU's (like France's) holiday policies over here.

P.S : Quaggan for President.

Lol i agree with mr.quaggan, this pvp community sometimes can be kitten rude to other people and really quick in judging other people.

The way I see it, if he reach plat then he deserves it, no one can say he doesn't deserve it because no one knows his full story of his journey to plat. Because let's be honest here, sometimes we carry other people and sometimes get carried in this game, and it's part of learning to get better in the game.

For me, I just appreciate he post this video in forum, He manage to reach plat while handicapped Himself by doing skill click. heck I keybind all my skills to my keyboard and mouse and still stuck in Gold 2-3 (yeah tell me I'm bad player, I don't kitten care).

He clearly just having fun and I don't understand why people bashing him if his intention it's just to share fun video with other people. Don't vent your frustration with GW2 PVP to him. Let's just appreciate the fun side of his video.

That's your opinion. We can voice ours as well. It's called giving feedback. It is good to take criticism and learn from it.

Thanks for the kind words and wish you to succeed too and most important HAVE FUN at it. I appreciate any kind of positive/negative feedback as it will help me improve my playstyle in the lacking departments BUT as I play only for fun, I won't stop clicking skills ever : I am not a competitive at all cost style of game player : such way of "playing" brings only frustration & anger. I may or may not go back lower tiers thats not really an issue atm I am still in Plat1... I don't really care as long as I am having fun. ^^

Next time I will post a better quality and performing video with better play but always with skill clicking...
