LW4 availability without PoF

Hi.

Has there been a similar announcement for LW4? I have seen no official news except for two trailers. Has there been any hint that it will remain this way **or** that it will change for LW4?

No official word for the episodes after PoF specifically. But it will very likely be the same way, if you log in you will unlock the episode for your account but the episode itself can be played only by lvl80 characters who own PoF.

It’s only for people who own pof. If you only own hot you won’t get it.

You _will_ get (unlock) it with only HoT; you just won't be able to access it.

 

From the Path of Fire official FAQ:

 

Q: **Do I need to own Path of Fire to play future content releases?**

A: Living World Season 4 episodes and raid releases will require Path of Fire to play. The raids released during Season 4 may use both Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns masteries. _As long as you log in while a Living World episode is live, you’ll still unlock it for free and can play it after you upgrade your account._

Inculpatus is correct. As long as you have an account, you will unlock the episodes by logging in while the episodes are active. You just won't be able to play any of the content until you have PoF.

I was able to unlock the chapter on my free account (which doesn't have HoT or PoF) just by logging in.

 

You can't play it until you're level 80 and own the relevant expansion (HoT for S3, PoF for S4), but if/when you do upgrade it will be available, you won't have to pay gems to unlock it.
