Patching Stuck at 3files

Hello all wondering if anyone can help me since I cant see anything in the discussions about this, but I am having an issue since the hotfix on weds, I get down to 3files remaining and it wont get past that, when I try to play it, its extremely laggy and eventually kicks me out the game... been stuck at 3 files since weds and have downloaded gigs upon gigs and still doesn't go past 3files remaining any help would be great.

You will likely need to use a VPN. When it gets stuck, but continues to download, it means it's downloading corrupted files, so it retries to download them over and over, using bandwidth but never progressing. It's caused by something interfering with your traffic, like a firewall, adware or your ISP injecting content.

 

If you want to experiment, try the following options:

-log -assetsrv 34.232.150.6

 

Let it download for a bit, then check the log file (%appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Gw2.log) for which files it's getting stuck on.

a vpn when i have never needed one before? have nothing blocking my traffic and have checked....
