Healix.5819
There are two types of black screens. One is a GPU problem, the other is actually network problem. For the standard GPU problem, either your screen will turn off (no signal) or be black and unable to alt-tab. Everything is still actually running, but the GPU crashed. It may recover, allowing you to alt-tab, but GW2 may remain black and unresponsive. It can be caused by bad drivers, unstable power, hardware or software. Some GPUs come pre-overclocked for example, and can become unstable over time. Use software like MSI Afterburner if you want to underclock the GPU. Try older drivers, disabling all overlays (NVidia GFE sharing/shadowplay, Windows 10 Xbox/game bar/game mode) and lower GW2's settings. For the network problem, it's caused by packet loss and it's basically the error/disconnected screen without a message. In this case, only the game is black and you can press F12 to bring up the logout menu. You can try running the game on port 80 or 443 (-clientport 80), or using a VPN.
